RE: Bowl Confirmations.
MAC fans need to root for USF to beat Pitt and Cincy to beat UConn. If those two results happen, the only bowl eligible team left home will be 6-6 CMU, which is the best possible outcome under the circumstances. My hope is for Georgia Tech to win the ACC anyway to illustrate the absurdity of the BCS.

This is pure bull****. Why even have the new set of rules for bowl eligibility of they are not going to follow the new rules? I bet if it was a MAC team they wouldn't approve it (yes, I know they did before, but I bet they wouldn't do it again).

It isn't our fault Miami and UNC misbehaved. GT was granted a waiver for the same reason UCLA was: GT wouldn't be in this position if the team that won division wasn't in NCAA trouble.

More of your gross lack of logic. GT is not in any "position". They didn't have to file a waiver. They could just win, or follow the rules.

Quote: The NCAA is at least consistent about not punishing other teams indirectly for one program's bad deeds.

THIS IS NOT PUNISHMENT FOR GT! Stop pretending like it's some sort of punishment for them.

The punishment will be all the accolades a 6-7 Georgia Tech will be afforded by accepting a bid from the "Look At Us, We Picked Tech" Bowl.

Rumor on twitter is Texas A&M is going to the Capital One Bowl.

San Jose St. is reportedly going to the Military Bowl.

Factor in those 4 teams, and we'd probably be looking at a team with 9 wins staying home for bowl season.

FBS could consistently have 80 bowl eligible teams once Georgia State, Charlotte, Old Dominion, and anyone else the Sun Belt calls up to replace their recent losses all come on board

I would put my money on KSU to Mobile now and everyone would be very happy to go there. Cap off an amazing season.

Mobile was a lot of fun when Ohio was there!

Mobile is a great lil' bowl...the Miami team and fans really enjoyed it in 2003 and 2010. The city really works hard to make it a great experience for everyone.

RE: Bowl Confirmations.
For the record, I don't like the waiver situation any more than anyone else. However, I won't really complain if CMU is left out of the bowl picture at 6-6, even though I'd love our seniors to have another game. Had we taken care of business in the 4th quarter of one of several possible games, we'd be in much better position.

At any rate, if our application to continue practicing while we wait for the bowl selections to shake out is approved, we'll at least get some extra reps in for the team. Which would be helpful, to say the least.

Yeah, no doubt. That's the thing that has frustrated me the most about all these call-ups by other conferences. All that is happening is they are diluting the product. 03-banghead

RE: Bowl Confirmations.
UL-Monroe is going to the Independence Bowl. Reportedly LaTech has turned down the Independence Bowl, so it will go to the MAC (unless LaTech changes their mind).

Roy Lang III ‏@RoyLangIII
#ULM is officially coming to the @IndyBowl

Roy Lang III ‏@RoyLangIII
As of now @LaTechFB has declined invitation to play #ULM. The #MAC would be likely conference to fill other slot if Tech doesn't change mind

Here's another tweet that is talking about LaTech...this one is a "WOW!" if true...

Roy Lang III ‏@RoyLangIII
Yes RT @mycoskie: @RoyLangIII Rather stay home than play ULM if it came to that?

Is Middle Tennessee a lock? They are getting blasted 45-0 by Arkansas State. Loss drops them to the 8-4 (6-2) group with BG and OU, well the 6-2 conference record applies to BG, anyway.

RE: Bowl Confirmations.
Why is L-Tech opposed to playing in Independence Bowl...offers their fans a good opportunity to attend the game. Where do they want to play?

Okla did beat TCU and UC is up 21-10 on UConn in 3rd qtr. Boise appears to be having a pretty easy time of it with Nevada, up 24-7.
