The only thing you need to know about Maddawgz commenting on the BCS is that his comments come from the voices in his head which are much different than reality.

Ball State was #12 in the BCS at the end of the regular season in 2008 (before the MACC).

Miami also was ranked very highly at the end of 2003. They were Top 15 that year, and their only loss was the season opening game to Iowa. Sounds familiar.

Miami (OH) was #10 in the BCS standings at the end of 2003
NIU was #12 at the end of week 7&8
BG was #15 at the end of week 10

NIU wouldnt have gotten a BCS bowl under those rules though, in the current framework it cant happen, it just cant. Too much money involved for the BCS schools to give up those spots, which is why the computers have been tweaked to assure it cant happen

What rankings does ESPN use? NIU is no where to be seen as being ranked on ESPN's web site or television coverage.

ESPN uses the BCS rankings, of which we were rated 26th going into today.

Luckily, Washington (ranked #25 in the BCS) choked an 18 point lead in the 4th quarter and lost to 2-9 Washington State. That should help us move into the BCS Top 25 on Sunday.

We gotta get you on some type of anger management program, or boost your current medications. I dont go in depth about rankings anymore, but that doesnt mean I have to sit by and drink the BCS cool aid. Those are not legit rankings, they are computer artificats. Just because you take what ESPN shoves down your throat doesnt mean any independent thinking person does too.

Right. So let's rely on the coaches poll. Cause god knows the coaches sit around all week watching other teams play to make sure they rank everyone appropriately.

Id rather be eaten by a coyote than wear the BCS cheerleading short skirt that you put on every week.

2 for 2 so far with a couple of big underdogs to boot. Can the Sun Devils make it 3 for 3 before we get to Saturday?

Also on Saturday:

Oregon over Oregon State (if by a big margin)
Also I think Stanford-UCLA could matter if Stanford wins by a big margin.
Might as well have Penn State beat Wisconsin too (and then have Wisky beat Nebraska next week...)
