If true, very bad news. Lack of oxygen to the brain for that long will have a very high chance of severe brain damage. Hope all turns well.

He was receiving CPR the entire time so there may be no brain damage at all.

that rumor came from one of Bret Hart's brothers...Smith Hart, who was backstage when all of this happened. They were giving him CPR....and his heart wasn't beating on its own until they hit him with a defibrillator.

I talked to Brian his son , earlier this morning, they are on the way to Montreal now to be with him, hes in stable condition and had stents put in over night, hes still not talking but is responsive, ill post more as i hear from Brian.

not beating on its own I believe, but that doesn't mean clinically dead. And if it took them 20 minutes to take the few moments to hook up the AED then someone better be fired.

But rumors aside, glad that it sounds like he's doing better and hope it wasn't too severe.

No offense, but no one outside of Smith Hart is stating this. I'll wait for an official confirmation before I take the word of someone who is not a doctor and only there as an observer. Just because Hitman had a stroke and Smith was backstage at the time does NOT make him a credible source for anything. It doesn't even make sense he was in the arena twenty minutes after it happened, WWE has medical staff on hand and an ambulance on site at ALL events, even if Smith had been up close (doubtful, very doubtful), Lawler would have been long gone from the arena. So how could he possibly know how long Lawler was "clinically dead" or that he was anything more than comatose? Whatever Smith Hart thinks he knows is nothing but rumor and it's awful that it's even going around without confirmation from anyone who is actually close to Lawler.

Who really cares about that?

The bottom line in all this is that it sounds like Lawler is going to be okay, and that's the most important thing here.

Thoughts and prayers with Jerry and his family. A true icon of wrestling and Memphis. Probably was his last match, but here's hoping we can see the strap come down 1 more time. He and Dundee still have a score to settle

I realize this isnt Tiger related but for every boy that grew up in the 70's/80's in Memphis it may mean something.

I remember on Saturday mornings having to wait until 11am rolled around.

Last I heard he as had heart surgery. A splint and balloon i believe. Seems to be a recoverable heart attack. Luckily he was immediately tended to.
