Very shocking news. As more details come out it's pretty disturbing. The guys backstage totally stopped paying attention to the show and began praying in circles. Cena and Bret Hart went out and did their thing. It's customary after the show goes off air to have another match for the fans in attendance. Tonight was supposed to be "Pat Patterson Appreciation Night," which has been cancelled. Lots of crying going on backstage and what not. They cleaned up the area around the ring where Lawler collapsed meaning he could have thrown up or something. He apparently turned blue and was evacuated. Cole looked as if he had "seen a ghost."
If anyone is interested, here's the broadcast from tonight. After the 7:00 mark you can hear Jerry breathing weird as the commentary stops, and a short while later the fans begin to chant his name.

Yeah, I started to clarify. I was thinking about the warrior part of it. We do what we do kinda thing.
One of our listeners, Matty, is a young doctor who was watching Raw tonight and has some thoughts about what may have happened to Jerry Lawler tonight.
Hi Solomonster,
I am shaken up as I write this email to you, I'd never thought I'd have to during live TV. Although I'm pretty shaken up by what happened to the King, I figured I'd just share what I know about the situation as a way of just calming down...and plus I I have nobody else to talk about this with.
I'm a doctor in my second year of residency so let me try to translate what is going on....
My first thought was that Jerry was having a heart attack. 60 something year old guy collapsing after physical exertion is a heart attack until proven otherwise. CPR was initiated so that means his heart must have stopped at some point during all of this. However, one does not convulse during a heart attack, like they said Lawler did. This makes me think more of a stroke or seizure type picture. The fact that he is breathing on his own is a good sign, meaning that his medulla is working properly. His eyes responding to light is reassuring too. Although I am not familiar with what exactly happened to the ER, the fact that he is waiting for a head CT scan shows that they are thinking stroke more than heart attack or seizure. The CT scan will help differentiate between hemorrhagic and embolic (hemorrhagic meaning that a vessel burst in the brain, and now blood is hemorrhaging in the brain, embolic meaning that a piece of clot/cholesterol moved into a blood vessel and blocked it, causing blood to not go to specific areas of the brain). If it is hemorrhagic, that means that he must have taken a hard bump to the head, I wasn't really paying attention to the match. If it is hemorrhagic, he may need surgery, if that is helpful. If it is embolic, he is still within the time frame to get clot busting treatment.
Just got the last update from Cole - Breathing on his own, heart beating on its own - good sign....doesn't rule out heart attack though. CT scan of the head to check for stroke. He just added that they're doing a CT of the chest - that is not to diagnose a heart attack! Thats a test to check for aneurysm/dissection of the aorta, the main blood vessel coming from the heart.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. It has been confirmed that Jerry did have a heart attack…he is in stable condition and breathing on his own & heart is stable. I’m getting on the first flight out of here to be with him & will keep everyone posted. He is a strong man and we will get him back at his best as soon as I can get him home! I love you so so much baby!!
I've been a wrestling fan as long as I can remember. Jerry "The King" Lawler is the first wrestler I can remember. My first ever live wrestling event was at the Carroll County Civic Center and Jerry Lawler was the main event! I don't remember who he fought, but I remember he won! Cole delivering that news tonight shook me. I was watching RAW on delay and I immediately went to the web to make sure The King was still with us. Praying hard for his recovery!
