Well can I understand what it means to be black? or gay? I mean Im a white straight male...

You also look at Christianity though a very biased lense.

Quote:FYI, born in Texas, raised protestant, Fundamentalist parents and grandparents. Grew out of religion at age 20.

And? yet you say this..

Quote:Also, according to many recent polls (as evidenced in This Article), atheist / agnostics know more about religion and culture (including the Quran and the Bible) than most religious people. Consider your retort disproven.

So why in the world would you being a Christian, when you were a child no less, mean anything?

Pretty much all of the significant learning I've done as a Christian has been after the age of 25. That's what Paul meant when he talked about milk and meat. You were a teenager I very much doubt you were getting educated in the deeper theological meaning of scripture.

BTW I don't care what some surveys say about other people... The point is you don't understand it better than me

Funny part is that things like this are considered relevant

Quote:A majority of Protestants, for instance, couldn't identify Martin Luther as the driving force behind the Protestant Reformation

That's a historical fact, not a theological one.

Quote:Eight in 10 people surveyed knew that Mother Teresa was Catholic.

More drivel.

Quote:The question that elicited the most correct responses concerned whether public school teachers are allowed to lead their classes in prayer.

Oh yea thats telling.. I got a 100% and answered no questions I consider above the level a properly schooled 12 year old should know. I think my 5 yo could answer all but maybe the Job question..

15 out of the 27 questions had nothing at all to do with Christianity and among those that did Mormons were #1, Evangelicals were #2 and Atheist were #3.
