I know I do. It's hard to seperate them.

I think Jesus would be appalled at the GOP.

What a ridiculous statement. I think he'd be more disgusted by the Democrats many of whom say "The Bible, HIS WORDS, are out of date."

Nice distraction from the rising unemployment rate, rising gas prices, rising deficits, etc. The only number falling in the Obama economy is middle class income.

The GOP attacks women and the poor. Jesus would be pissed off at the GOP.

Yeah, we waqnt to kill everyone using dirty air and water. Libs will say anthing and actually get people like you to believe it.

Dems support killing babies. I'd say that would rank a little higher among his concerns than your idiotic delusions.

Really? I've never met a single Democrat that supports killing babies.

That would make you a liar.

Some dems support the right to a partial birth abortion... Thats killing a baby.

Some Republicans say that "legitimate rape" doesn't even result in pregnancy.

Not some, one. But nice try at spinning.

My god!! man, you did not know that R&R was the chief architect of Akin's "legitimate rape" statement. Haven't you been reading the news, man. How could you have missed that!!!!

Probably because even those in your own party avoid your crazy a$$ like the plague. Go to any Planned Parenthood office and you'll meet plenty. Hell look at your president's state Senate voting record and you can read all about it.

I've never met a republican that attacks women and the poor. Since who we've met is now the qualifying factor for determining truth I guess that makes you a liar.

Republicans have consistently voted against any bill that helps women or the poor, so you'd be the liar.

And Planned Parenthood doesn't advocate killing children. I'll bet you've never been inside one in your life, so you're making up your opinion without even looking at the facts.

I guess you hang out in Planned Parenthood. Is that where you pick up chicks?

At least you clowns are consistent in your ignorance. I look forward to seeing you on suicide watch when Obama beats Mittens in November.

Half of the people here are not voting for either major party candidate... Why would their be a suicide watch when "hope in chains" wins?

TOGC can't thing beyond the number 2, so he believes that anyone against the Dimocrat must be for the Repuglican.

And of course, this gets demoted into a party finger pointing session.

The OP didn't state which party was more christ like, that started when one person or another pointed the finger at the guy next to him, as always happens.

OP clearly states his reference (this nation) and the hypocrisy that many people commit when saying they are christian without living in a christ like manner, while at the same time, claiming this nation in their own name.

Stop bickering and shifting blame to anyone but your "home team" party.

I forget. Many of you aren't eligible to vote.

Christians believe in life AFTER death. Our hope does not rise and fall with an election.

This happens in every single thread like this. It gets very, very irritating. I feel like the only times I ever post here I get called names and argued with. Like I've said before I don't think that helps anything. Sometimes I think that sane people on the Spin Room are a rare - and dying - breed.

Our values are Judeo-Christian and our government is based on that tradition. But we are not a "Christian nation" in the sense that Saudi Arabia is a "Muslim nation".

RE: Are we a Christian nation?
The Constitution never mentions Jesus, so I'd have to say that we are not a Christian nation. Combine that with the first amendment and it's pretty obvious we're not a Christian nation.

Our nation was founded on freedom of religion, not just freedom to be Christian.

That was just an oversight. I plan on seeing the Republicons push for a Constitutional amendment to put it in there.

They are the reason we have "In God We Trust" on the money and "one nation, UNDER GOD" in the pledge of allegiance.

When someone who is not a Christian starts telling Christians what "Christ like is" the end results are predictable. It's Alinsky's fourth rule and put forth for no other reason than to try to make someone else play by rules that you yourself don't understand.

So essentially your argument boils down to "i'm not a christian therefore I can't possibly understand what it means to be one"?

FYI, born in Texas, raised protestant, Fundamentalist parents and grandparents. Grew out of religion at age 20.

Also, according to many recent polls (as evidenced in This Article), atheist / agnostics know more about religion and culture (including the Quran and the Bible) than most religious people. Consider your retort disproven.

Re: Are we a Christian nation?
I was a former agnostic, now Christian. I became a Christian because I needed facts and believed that the facts offered through the Bible and and science were sufficient proof to become a Christian. Would agree that those who are agnostic or even athiest know a lot about the Bible, but I also know many who are Christian who know the Bible quite well.
