If, one is to go on their site to argue a point with them, nine times out of ten, they never respond to the point you are trying to make, just call you a troll, or stupid, or uninformed, as if God gave them all the knowledge of everything.
If, we beat Western this year, I'm going on their site and let them have it with both barrels.
Winning changes everything, and if you win consistently, they will come. Something Central is beginning to find out in reverse. Lose, and they forget who you are.

Ken,

careful what you wish for. It makes zero sense to come on someone else's board and gloat after a win. If you don't want it done on EMU's board, don't do it on other boards. There is nothing wrong with having civil conversations, wanting to beat the brains out of every other MAC team, and being humble about it at the same time.

You are 1000% correct, good, clean, civil talking is good and makes the game fun to watch because you don't want to hear the other guys brag..

I hope that we have gotten over ourselves and committ to having good joking and conversation this year. When it is all said and done we all suppose the MAC and teams from the MAC.

Let's commit to bragging, joking, kidding, clean digging, high stepping and smiling when we do our posting on each other board this season..

I agree. Winning is its own reward. When you win there is no reason to gloat or brag, the scoreboard says everything you would need to say.

RE: How do EMU Football get some respect
Dear Friends,
Well, I guess I have become the center of attention lately, even though that post that everyone is referring to, was about a month ago. Look who dragged it up.... one of our Western friends, and I say that lightly.
I've been a firm believer in my life that sometimes people need to get their comeupin's, because they really think they are God's gift to whatever their cause, and unless someone reminds them strongly, they just never stop to think that anyone could have a different opinion, or that they could just be wrong.
I have never been one to gloat, and Bob Wickersham is correct. When I said both barrels, I was exaggerating a bit because I was upset with the context at the time. Lastly, the Western people that occasionally visit our site have always been treated as another point of view, but they must not read their own site too carefully, because there are several others on their board that do not believe in fair play. Chipdip is not the only one.

I agree that it's more than just one poster who take some unnecessary jabs at EMU (not just things like attendance), but I still think it only adds fuel to their fire when gloating ensues. I understand defending our school when you read offensive comments over there (I've done that before, as well as some others), but there's no need to start anything on their board. The game will speak for itself.

Ken,

You don't get it. When you visit the Stampede and gloat about a victory, it isn't going to end well. It doesn't matter if you think someone, or multiple people, are being complete knuckleheads by disrespecting EMU. A reminder of EMU's recent success is not needed.

Take a look at your rating and the people who have given you negative points. Click on the threads. You get shelled when you visit other boards and gloat.

I would recommend changing your approach. Again, you wouldn't appreciate it if the same was done on the Eagles Nest.

fyi-this thread got bumped, so I started reading it. I paid no attention to the dates on the posts. I don't apologize for having a different opinion. I apologize when I neglect to use tact in my posts and they are interpreted wrong OR when I mess up facts. You on the other hand have no problem stopping by the Stampede and dropping one liners that remind everyone about EMU's 3-0 record vs WMU last year in bball and fball. Gee, I wonder why people react that way to you.

We all have one or two posters that can be abrasive. It is what it is.

Dear EA3,
I really have to disagree with you, and your thinking. I would have to go back and check what gloating you are talking about, but it does matter when you have knuckleheads who never see any other point of view as being legitimate.
Yes, the people that have given me negative points is because I disagreed with their point of view. That's logical. I do not gloat. You may call it that, but if, I have a point of view I will defend it. I have also apologized, or have stood corrected in many posts, so you don't know what you are talking about. You only bring up this 3-0 statement as proof that I am somehow always doing this. You are the example of the holier than thou people on your website. You castigate me on one comment, that was probably taken out of context.

You miss the point completely.

Here is a great example. Instead of discussing this with civility, you choose to throw in the comment in bold above.

Your history on the Stampede is filled with examples of this. Please review your negative ratings for documentation.

You are more than welcome to jump on the Stampede and gloat all you want if EMU wins this year. If that makes you feel better, have at it.

Dear EA3,
Civility? Wow, when I asked for you to produce the complete statement of 3-0, or other gloating on my part, where was it? Nowhere. It is always the same with you people. Never bring in facts, statistics, etc., always answer with generalities which you can easily hide behind as cover, for not having any facts.
Just because you have a 42 reputation, could easily be 41, if I wanted, but I am not as small minded as people on your site, or others, when it comes to disagreements. I live and let live. I also do not live by the reputation number. If, it goes in one direction or another, I can't control it. In your case, I think it has ballooned your ego, and that's okay, if one is looking for strokes, I'm not. Like I've said to people on other posts, you are entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts.

Ken,

I will never understand your lack of tact when visiting the Stampede. You feel the need to attack others when you feel EMU has been slighted. That is the underlying issue.

Your reputation points were an example as to why the majority of posters on the Stampede do not enjoy you. Spin it however you like.

Have a great day.

Dear EA3,
Again, no examples of me attacking people. Just charges. You better be careful, or I might just give you your first negative. Well, I am so disappointed that the egotists on Stampede don't enjoy me. With all of their wonderful misconstrued information on that site, they wouldn't enjoy anyone with a different point of view. Just remember, you are entitled to your own opinion just not your own facts.
