RE: Pitt Script NCAA 2013
I think I could do better. The hard part is getting the logo cut right and color scheme. He did a pretty nice job at that. I'm not crazy about the designs he did, though.
Maybe a little later I will screw around with it and post some pics.

I think we have less than a 1% chance of going back to that look in 2013. It'd be cool but I just don't see it. Pederson is the one who rebranded Pitt back in the 1990s and so he's a staunch opponent of it. Secondly, I've read on other message boards that Chancellor Nordenburg is also against it.

RE: Pitt Script NCAA 2013
It would be nice to see the team come out in the old Mustard & Blue w/ the Script next year. All part of a "New Era" type promotion. 2013 is the perfect time to bring it back. But, this guy isn't holding his breath.

RE: Pitt Script NCAA 2013
If you REALLY want it, you CAN make it happen.
* Students can petition the president
* Alumni can petition the Alumni Association
* Boosters can petition the Booster Club
* Local fans can write in to the newspaper and call in to radio & tv stations
one person can't do it, but a horde of ticket-buying fans sure can!
Forget about the federal & state elections this Fall... Take a stand for what you REALLY believe in... Blue & Mustard Pitt Script for ALL!

All those empty seats at Heinz are the reason this won't get done. The interest in Pitt football isn't high enough to get that level of support.

Maybe they just need a cause celebre?

It could be Hokie. I just don't see it happening. It would create a lot of buzz for us, I think, moving to the ACC. Unfortunately, though, it would take a major re-branding for the effort too and that costs money. The new logo and what not are all over the place.
What I would like to see, though, would be a switch back to the script logo for football even if we keep the colors the same and then allowing the basketball team to keep the block font. UCLA does this.

ndlutz... I think this would be the best of all worlds... they could keep the block on all buildings and sanctioned logos. I actualy like it for the hoops unis. Just use it for the football uniforms... it would be a great way to make extra cash for marketing purposes... still it aint gonna happen.

I don't understand why those in marketing & sales at Pitt doesn't understand that concept. Worst case in my eyes would be seeing the Script at 2-3 home games and an away game. So much merchandise you can sale, even using it a few games in a season + merchandise from the block Pitt. It is what it is unfortunately.

RE: Pitt Script NCAA 2013
For some reason both Pederson and Nordernburg REALLY have a problem with the script. I've even gotten the impression that it is a really sore subject in our administration when it is even brought up?

It always strikes me as strange that it seems like a sore subject for the AD and administration. It's just a logo. I understand that it's a powerful representation of the sports programs but really at the end of the day it's just a logo. I just can't think of why they detest it so much.

Sad sense of reality isn't it.

Yes, it is. Remember this Bleacher Report article from afew years back talking about Pederson's disdain for anything retro or old school?
