Good point, the valley area is highly under-recruited. Although not a lot of top talent comes out of there, we need to make sure we are a top destination for the good ones that do come out. Although it seems that Coker jumped on that bandwagon already. He just finished a trip down there and it appears that he has full intentions of owning the valley area. If anything, I think that will be the first area that covets a UTSA spot as a priority.

Agreed...UTSA should be able to grab most 2 or 3 star recruits out of the Valley...the occasional national recruit will most likely go to UT or TAMU. UTSA can be successful as a school which develops some nr/2/3 star freshmen recruits into 3/4/5 star seniors.

However, it's supposedly easier to find little guys that can play than big guys.

For that reason, the 4-2-5 is the defense of underdogs the nation over.

Agree in the 4-2-5 we need a ton of DBs. If anything it shows we are actively recruiting the valley. IMO an under recruited area with plenty of gems to get from time to time.

Imagine if we can set up pipelines there. San Antonio being relatively close we could possibly beat out larger programs due to our location and we play in a semi respectable conference.

Go Runners!

Semi respectable conference you say! I like to think that C-USA is more than semi. Just my two cents worth.

+2 more cents. I'm still riding a high with the CUSA invite. I rate it a kick @$$ conference, just waiting patiently until we can dominate it.

RE: Sal Martinez - Preferred Walk-On
So I noticed that Sal is not on the updated roster. Could it be because he has to try out to get into the team? I was under the impression that a preferred walk-on is guaranteed admission to training and a try out, then he has to compete like the rest. Could it be that he did not make the cut or that he hasn't tried out yet?

Preferred walk ons don't have to try out. They are automatically on the team.

Walk-ons won't be on the roster until they are on campus taking classes. Once summer II semester starts a couple more guys will pop up, and even more come August.
