From having nothing to having something we are all very happy. We made miracles with nothing. Just think what we can do with something.
The pavilion is between 4 and 5 mil. Overall facility improvement roughly 23 million.
Glad to see UAB back to fielding a FB team again this season. When you get your own stadium things will really improve.
That is a beautiful facility of which they can be proud. It is doubtful, however, if they ever get an on campus stadium of their own due to the one being built downtown by the city-county which they can use when it is completed.
That's ok for now. We will be the primary tenant in a state of the art 45,000 seat stadium with an entertainment complex connected. We can then work on funding a new basketball practice facility and facility upgrades to Bartow Arena.
BTW the turf is going down now on one of the new fields.

Looks good to me. Pavilion feels like it'll keep the elements mostly out without spending a butt-ton of money for a fully indoor facility. Good use of money.
I actually like the idea of a "pavillion" better than an all indoor facility. It will probably age much better, and still keeps the players a little closer to the real elements. You don't have the expense of heating and cooling it, and frankly, it looks better. I've never seen an indoor practice facility that didn't look ugly.

Plans for a huge redevelopment project were unveiled in Huntington last night. This redevelopment will include a new Minor League baseball stadium that is technically off-campus, but literally across the street from the Joan C Edward Stadium and right next to our softball stadium.
Also included in the plans (I'll add the pictures if I can find them) of a Hotel and Convention Center that in the report it specifically says is beneficial for Marshall University.

HogDawg the new Press Box is going to look really nice. Will it be finished in time for the 2017 season?
North Texas will be building an Indoor Practice Facility. Not sure when it will start.
Congrats!
Yup, will be finished in time. We started preliminary work during the season and got to work as soon as the UTSA game was over so we could be sure to have it done in time.
Btw, I went to the Tech-UNT game this year. What's the deal with Fouts Field? Is it still used for something? Practice? Is it ever going to be torn down and replaced with something?

Currently, half of the stands at Fouts have been torn down. I believe it's still used for track and field. Plans are to build a new track and field stadium across I35 at the Athletic Village(Apogee Stadium location), then tear down Fouts completely, the land will then be used for either academic buildings, parking garage, etc. I think the T & F facility will start later this year. At least that was my understanding. I hope all of these athletic facility upgrades and new construction will help North Texas make CUSA a better conference. We sure need to do our part.

Go TECH! Go North Texas!
Cool, thanks for the info. Apogee is definitely a nice stadium. Y'all did well. (except ringing that bell every 5 seconds and the random eagle screeches were annoying as hell, but maybe that's the point lol )
