I love Reno and like what their athletic program has done, but overall (IMO), Fresno State has so much more.

Ditto! I think Nevada has accomplished much with very little. But for fan support, they are NOT a Fresno. Even on good years, UNR can not sell out their stadium (and it's not big). Fresno fan support and market are much better!

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, virtually every school has dou(hebag fans. The Bama fan who teabagged the passed out LSU fan, not to mention the guy who poisoned Auburn's trees. I would daresay that some people would have thought Byron Hout was acting exactly like those Nevada fans until LeGarrette Blount cold-cocked him.

Meh, not when they are ranked lower than most of us (UNLV will pass them in the next 1/4 century anyway in terms of academics)

I don't believe the perceived prestige of a flagship designation carries as much weight anymore. Academicians may see value in it but the practical world could really give a chit.

The issue for me with UNR as a suggestion has nothing to do with our game there 2 years ago.

It has everything to do w/ the fact that THE BEST NEVADA TEAM IN HISTORY, WHO ENDED THE SEASON RANKED IN THE TOP-15 HAD AN AVERAGE ATTENDANCE OF JUST UNDER 20k/game for 2010.

What a freakin joke that is... and we know Cal and Boise were sellouts, so how many 9k attendance games DID they have that year?



On that Boise/Nevada 2010: We LOST THE GAME.... THEY WON IT... that is not at-issue in the least. Rather, it was their appalling fan/community behavior, and worse, the rude, a-hole-ish attitude of even the employess in the Bronco Team Hotels who were being huge d!cks to the Boise fans after the game. No place calling itself a vacation town should EVER behave that way, nor allow the kind of crap that went on to go un-challenged.

Horrible, but not a reason to invite or not invite a program to a new conference.

Honestly, those pics aren't the image that bothers me most about that night. What is that image?? Well, for me, it was watching scumbag UNR fans (20s/30s) shoving a Boise State fan Senior-citizen couple down the stairs after the game, and going over there to insist that they 'clean it up...' Come on, classless; picking on old folks like that?

The image I remember is after they started swinging and me and several others cracking some wanna-bee woofpack skulls. Those weren't Nevada fans, they were street-trash that the Nevada ticket-office fire-saled the tickets to, in an overt effort to AVOID selling tickets to our fans.

I don't like having to do that, but I'm not going to stand around and watch when it does. If that had happened at an SEC stadium, the entire crowd on both sides would have stomped the @#$%@ out of those idiots. You just don't DO that kind of thing.
