If I understand the plan. It is the hope that UTA will add football soon. Add UNF and like USA and UNCC they will add football in a short while.

Um...first of all UNF has little in common with USA and UNCC. USA and UNCC both have much stronger overall programs and are not in large oversaturated markets.

Second of all, if UTA announced today that they were adding football, it would likely be at least five years before they were playing in the Sun Belt, we'd have like three years to decide what the best course of action was.

Apparently, you have not been in Alabama my friend. It is Roll Tide and War Damn Eagle 24 7. Your argument is weak. In fact you used the same one against UNCC and Ga State. And no we do not have three years. If ODU does not make a decision, then CUSA will invite MTSU or will add MTSU within three years. Why wait for MTSU to leave before adding another school. ADD APP STATE and GA SOUTHERN now. Then begin talks with UNF. That is what I said.

In time UNF could get there, they have a beautiful track/soccer facility that could easily be mistaken as a football stadium.
The disaster that is ETSU would be a better solution than that. Atleast then App would have a close travel partner to mirror UL/ULM, Troy/USA, UALR/Ark St, WKU/MT, and we're a top 100 media market!
This of course is completely ludacris as ETSU's facilities are substandard, we have no budget and an athletic director who isn't worth the toilet paper he wipes with.

ETSU! ETSU! Boy what in the hell are you drinking and smoking in them dar hills! UNF does not have the budget! Your dismissed. Please remove yourself from the class room.

You're the last person who should be dismissing anyone over realignment thoughts...also, when telling someone to remove himself from the classroom, you may want to you use the proper form of your/you're...

Please google Clay Travis and read about your/you're in regards to people from Alabama.
And no, UNF does not have the budget. No team currently competing as members in the Atlantic Sun Conference have the budget to move to the Sun Belt. ETSU USED to have the fans, but not the facilities or budget. Now ETSU has a half built baseball stadium, a softball field without a pressbox, and a soccer stadium that took 8 years to build. Supposedly ETSU is the best overall program in the ASC, as my mighty Bucs have won the tallest midget trophy (All Sports race) every year since joining the A-Sun.
UNF has good baseball, tennis and golf. That's about it. Remember, the Sun Belt isn't looking for market size, it's looking for teams that can build rivalries, a true geography based conference where fans can travel to and from. Of course in UNF's case, you actually have to have fans. They don't have any, at all.
I got it, why don't the A-Sun and Sun Belt merge to form a mega basketball conference!

Here we go.
Sun Belt North
WKU
MT
NKU (our newest addition)
ETSU
Lipscomb
Ark. St
UALR
Ah to hell with it, I can't even jokingly form that.

I've been to Alabama many times(Mobile twice in fact), USA and UNCC were both in a much better position to add football than UTA is even Georgia State was in a better position to add football than UTA.

Now, I never said anything about not adding App State or Georgia Southern. All I said was adding UNF now because UTA might have football in another five years makes zero sense. We have zero reason to talk with UNF or any other non-football member until UTA has announced intentions to begin football and even then we can hold off until two years before they're set to begin conference play.

Ok, let me be clear, if that is your plan then I am backing out of the conference. I mean seriously, taking a non football member in the hopes that they might start football some day? Even the WAC has enough sense to go out of business before reaching that point.

Well thank you partner! And if you can show me where anyone predicted UTA six months ago, I will buy you a cigar!

Six months ago, no predicted UT-A because the WAC was still intact and they had just announced their WAC intentions, but there was discussion about what to do about UALR and how to balance them out, be it adding a football only, adding another non-football, letting them be the only non-football or hoping they find a new home.

As soon as it became clear that the majority of the WAC were departing for CUSA/MWC/SBC UT-A made perfect sense and I did mention them before any official talk began, stating that while it might be a bit strange that it would push UALR to the east, the Mavs are just too obvious of a solution to the balance problems.

As we exist today and likely will exist for the next four or five years there is no reason to add another non-football. If we invite UNF today we'd have three non-football schools for at least 2013,2014 and 2015 and that's assuming UTA gets the ball rolling on football very soon.

You can believe whatever you want about who we should and shouldn't add as full members, but there is absolutely zero incentive to adding a non-football member after UTA as long as UTA and UALR are both in the conference and not playing football.

Here it is, the craziest, super conference to cover media markets and basketball! I think the Sun Belt should do this, immediately.

The new North
MT
WKU
Ark St
UALR
Lipscomb
ETSU
Northern Kentucky
South Carolina Upstate
Ga St.
App
Kennesaw St
Mercer

South
UTA
TXST
ULM
UL
Troy
USA
FAU
Stetson (Fear the Hat!)
FGCU
JU
UNF
Ga. Southern

There it is, 24 teams, giving a presence in Nashville, Louisville, Daytona Beach, Atlanta, Little Rock, Jacksonville, Miami, Dallas, Charlotte, Winston Salem and of course, the Tri-Cities Tn/VA (market 92 for those of you scoring at home).
It leaves 11 football playing schools. First one between ETSU, Kennesaw, UNF or whoever that can get the money, fans and facilities for a legit FBS football program can be the 12th!

**Disclaimer: I'm absolutely bored to death today, almost to the point of delirious. This by no stretch is anything even remotely serious and should be laughed at, ridiculed and perhaps flamed for it's shear idiocy. Thank goodness, nine more minutes.

Well thank you for your support. I am glad that you find yourself above the discussion. Next time bring some thought to the process.

Now t!hat is a shame Skully. Wow man! Not even a 1% for a Jaguar fan who has waited patiently for a USA football team. That is sad man. Oh well.

If that's you plan...

*backing out of the room slowly*

Don't back up now....come on in the room. Take you A$$ whoopin like a man uhhh "panther" you big "censored".

Ok, let me be clear, if that is your plan then I am backing out of the conference. I mean seriously, taking a non football member in the hopes that they might start football some day? Even the WAC has enough sense to go out of business before reaching that point.

Panama .. where have you been. Did you not see the note about UTA.
Alright. But no money back. Please have someone call Ga Southern. The real GSU. 05-stirthepot
