It is starting to look worse than I expected. Now it is starting to look like we are loosing MT the next iteration of expansion drafts. This would be bad for the SBC.

UNT and FIU are gone. We picked up Georgia State which I wanted. I am disappointed in not getting UTSA or UNCC. Instead we have Texas State and Texas Arlington which does not have a football program

With the addition of UTA we need to open our eyes and start talks with the University of North Florida. They do not have a football team now but would be seen as great addition to the SBC when they do add football. I do not think that UALR will add football.

Add UNF to give FAU an instate rival and travel partner

East:

App
FAU
Ga State
Georgia Southern
MT
UNF
Troy

West:

ASU
UALR
ULL
ULM
USA
TxSt
UTA
WKU

Not only NO, %$&# No to UNF. You want kill the conference with teams like Pondwater U. (unf)? Who's next on your list, PSC?
Really?! UNF? They had their first non losing season this year at 16-16. Plus you would split schools who are separated by short drives? WKU/MT roughly an hour depending on 65 traffic and Troy/South Alabama? Under every scenario those two pairs will need to be divisional partners. Plus, I don't know if you want divisions in basketball, especially with the issues of getting home games. Just play a full round robin and be done. it guarantees you a few more home dates and doesn't put a strain on trying to fill out a huge OOC schedule.
UNF will have football too, by the way. They just need to get their other sports on solid footing.

I have to agree. You have always wanted really weird schools to join.
Or you could just add sourthern, and app, and move UALR to the east. Move Alabama Teams west and call it good
Why add a third non-football member? The whole idea behind adding UTA was to balance UALR, furthermore that's 5 football schools in one division and 6 in the other.

Just another dose of crazy from FloridaJag

If ya had four non-footballers it would be fine. But who ya adding as a fourth non-football? I bet the MT fans want Belmont, Lipscomb or Trevecca! 03-lmfao02-13-banana 03-rotfl:drunk2:
These same arguments were used against Ga State, UNCCC and UTSA. Even ODU. Look back at my post about adding schools and you will see that I was always a proponent of thinking proactively. Now we see that the schools I brought to the table are not only FBS but are in CUSA.

Based upon the results, was I wrong? Now because the SBC procrastinated. We only have two of the three I was suggesting. Plus everybody is unhappy with FCS move ups App State and Ga Southern. Well conference mates it is passed time you got your head out of a$$e$ and get the game.

Take a good look at the landscape and check your position on the map. We have lost UNT and FIU. Losing MT is a killer. Don't you get it. The ACC cut the BE's throat, The BE cherry picked CUSA. CUSA did the same to SBC and moved to block us from competing in future markets by getting UNCC and UTSA. All because you have some grand delusion of your postion within FBS world. Grow up and realize the world changes daily.

If I understand the plan. It is the hope that UTA will add football soon. Add UNF and like USA and UNCC they will add football in a short while.

So deal with that problem when you get there. No reason to add schools now to solve a problem 5+ years down the road.

That is real cute Panama. Especially after all the time I spent promoting the merits to Ga state to this board. It appears that you have turned to the dark side once you got your invite. What a shame that you have been so easily turned from enlightenment.

You are turning out to be a joke.

Um...first of all UNF has little in common with USA and UNCC. USA and UNCC both have much stronger overall programs and are not in large oversaturated markets.

Second of all, if UTA announced today that they were adding football, it would likely be at least five years before they were playing in the Sun Belt, we'd have like three years to decide what the best course of action was.
Okay, UNF hasn't the budget or fans to get it done. You'd be better off going after Gulf Coast. Atleast they have blue hairs funding the school in Ft. Myers.
In time UNF could get there, they have a beautiful track/soccer facility that could easily be mistaken as a football stadium.
The disaster that is ETSU would be a better solution than that. Atleast then App would have a close travel partner to mirror UL/ULM, Troy/USA, UALR/Ark St, WKU/MT, and we're a top 100 media market!
This of course is completely ludacris as ETSU's facilities are substandard, we have no budget and an athletic director who isn't worth the toilet paper he wipes with.

With all due respect my friend, I view your weekly realignment threads as the biggest joke on this board.

Time does wait for a program like UTA who is at least five years from having a team in conference. There is zero incentive to adding a non-football member today, there is zero incentive to adding one even immediately after a UTA football announcement. In general, being proactive in conference realignment is probably the safe play, but when it comes to adding another non-football member because UTA might be playing football five years from now...03-lmfao

You're the last person who should be dismissing anyone over realignment thoughts...also, when telling someone to remove himself from the classroom, you may want to you use the proper form of your/you're...
