They don't care. Those players don't care. And it makes me wonder why, as a fan, I care.

Did RDM cost himself the Chelsea job with his choice of lineup and tactics today?

I think it has always been CL or bust for RDM.

Lord, I hope we can beat Bayern. But I don't know if RDM will be brought back even if we do. I like the job that he has done, but Abramovich supposedly has the manager of the French national team in mind.

There was a discussion in r/chelseafc the other day about it, there were a lot of good points raised. But really the job RDM has done has been great, but it has been the players playing up to their potential more than anything.

If Roman doesnt support Laurent Blanc any more than AVB, then his tenure will be just as short. You being in Blanc to reform and clean out the old fogies not to try and win with a bunch of 30 year olds.

Yeah. This is really the first game since AVB was sacked where I have questioned the motivation of the players on the field.

But the difficult thing about being a Chelsea fan are having these games where we as fans realize the importance of it and want to win badly but the players seem to not "get it"/don't care. It's happened so often during my time as a fan (I've been a Chelsea fan since the late 90s when I really began to follow the Premiership, and my fandom was confirmed by seeing them in person a few years ago), and I'm certain that it will continue to happen, but it's just shameful and disgusting that the players can't find it within themselves to give 100%

Well yes, and that's what his charge was when the French brought him in as well. Club football is different than national team football, for sure, but Blanc's experience is certainly much more convincing than AVB's was.

After watching the Grizzlies game, I am a bit used to it. I completely understand your frustration, and I feel the same thing. It's hard to go into a season with high expectations, only to see the dressing room implode. It reminds me so much of the club in "Dream Team".

RE: Gameday 37 Thread.
I've been studying for an evidence exam tomorrow. I planned on watching the game, but when I saw (a) the lineup and (b) the terrible play in the first 25 minutes, I turned it off. I don't understand not going for the win today so we'd at least be in the discussion on the final match day where anything can happen, especially given the fact that we're playing an already relegated team.

Not really. Blanc has coached 3 seasons as a club manager and won one Ligue 1 title. AVB had coached 2 seasons won a Premira Liga title and a Europa League title. They are actually very similar in their managerial records and if anything AVB has a slight advantage.

Yes but Blanc had to deal with old players with outsized egos with the French NT, whereas AVB never had to deal with that before coming in at Chelsea

He's dealt with them for 6 days at a time, not 9 months straight like a club setup. Im not saying he isnt a good coach BTW. I think he is. I also think that he is doomed if Roman pulls the rug out from under him like he did with AVB. Chances are that he will because that is his track record with every coach he's ever had.

Alan Pardew named Manager of the year. Vincent Kompany named player of the year. Pardew was no surprise, imo.
