Instead what would more likely is that each would be given a short-term commitment from the league like a two year contract that would have to be regularly renewed and there would targets to meet regarding their scheduling, ticket sales, and success and they would have to give regular updates on progress and plans. If the league became dissatisfied the contract would not be renewed.
I just wish the Sun Belch could acquire the WAC name and brand.

Know that the CUSA/MWC merger was probably a scam from the start but it would be great if the SBC could merge with the WAC and drop the Sun Belch name and the stigma that goes with it, then set conditions for inclusion in the new WAC down the road.

Know Benson wants to re-Brand the SBC and but that would do it.

The same arrangement would be made as it relates to FAU to West division football conference members.

Baseball and Basketball could be limited by east teams to once every other year regarding NMSU. Same for west teams regarding FAU.

Thus, some of the travel costs would be, at least, more controlled.

And, we could pick up a good all sport conference member.

No.

They wouldn't be that good of a pick up. Better than some of the local FCS candidates? Maybe, but not better enough to justify they're far flung geography.

You may on your way to CUSA since Old Dominion is not making any announcement of their move. Could be they still not quite sure whether to move or not.

When the Sun Belt formed in football we were in a holding pattern for a bit as Idaho was having trouble getting approval.

Old Dominion hired Wood Selig specifically because he had experience in the transition and they wanted to move FBS. Don't confuse dealing with red tape with a school balking. If there is an MTSU surprise (or whomever surprise) it will be because of a lack of CUSA patience for ODU getting their approval through.

True but the, the only name that carries a stigma is Sun Belch, and the WAC brand is worth the confusion. Rather like the Big East name.

No it wouldn't. If you play each crossdivisional opponent the same a team in the East division would play @ NM St every 6 years. (Playing 2 crossover games a year)

2013
NM St (A)
2 (H)

2014
2 (A)
NM St (H)

2015
3 (H)
4 (A)

2016
4 (H)
3 (A)

2017
5 (H)
6 (A)

2018
6 (H)
5 (A)

2019
NM St (A)
2 (H)

In a 6/6 split, I'd think it would be 3 crossover games a year, to keep it at 8 total conference games per school, and leaving open 4 OOC slots.

And so you're back from outer space
Trashing the belt but with a sad look upon your face
I should've changed that stupid lock
I should've made you leave your key
If I knew for just one second you'd be back to bother me

Come on now go, walk out the door
Just turn around now, to your conference of 4
Weren't you the one who was so cocky tried to hurt us with goodbye
Did you think we'd crumble, you think we'd lay down to die?

Oh no, not us, we will survive
As long as you're 3-9, we will stay alive
I've got good teams to give, I've got great fans to give
And I will survive, I will survive, hey hey

Bet I know more about what is going on in this realignment and at ASU than you and 90 percent of the other posting on this board, which may or may not be saying a lot.

While I promised my wife and her friends, that I would not be spilling my guts on the internet, I don't mind at all toying with fools. Especially clueless ones.

It's sad a man with no class, states he has a wife and acts the way you do on a message board. No one cares what you think you know and how much you think you know. This isn't the 4th grade. This is a message board specifically designed to communicate and interact with others that want to talk football in a civilized manner with class.

Thats coming from a 23 year old. Grow up...@ Seminole Indian

Nothing inappropriate about my post I don't use foul language, or anything like that.

I do not mind toying with people who are positioning themselves up to eat crow, but I'm not doing it in an offensive way.

If fact I have a high regard for each individual institution in the SBC, but am also aware that their eagerness to not be associated with the Belt has become a major obstacle to improving the SBC, and is really frustrating Benson & the CEOs.

I am pleased to see you guys rallying around each other because as a Conference you are far better than you realize. Perhaps if you did realize how good you are maybe more schools would since that and would want to stay, or join. In the end that is up to you guys.
