Hillsdale is a top D2 college and probably has a better roster than the NIU.

oh yeah, a real powerhouse--they did not make the 64 team D2 National Championship tourney so they are, at best, the 65th best D2 team in the country....

as for their roster, little zach will have much trouble there if they are that good...but, doubtful they are very athletic....

Wait. How can you say that it is little known? Have you never listened to Mark Levin(conservative talk show host)? 03-lmfao

It's a lot like the Illini fans focusing on Chicago....who cares? There are a lot of big cities that churn out talent. Just get it from somewhere.

It's about the pipelines created to the high schools. If/when MM leaves for (MSU) GREENer pastures, some/many/all of those MI pipelines will close up without him at NIU. In-state pipelines would not close up as easily and have a far better chance of remaining open with a new coaching staff.

I'm not convinced. It's all about the coach. All coaches/staffs have some kind of pipeline and I don't care where they come from if they are good.

I don't think the location of the pipelines matter anywhere near as much as the coach/staff.

I wouldn't call Waller one of the greats. Very good shooter, but just an average ballhandler and not a good defender. One-dimensional player.

BTW, Waller started his college career at Cincinnati.

Tough talk from somebody who hangs on Rachel Maddow's every insane thought.

I don't know what youa re smoking, but my ultra liberal Obama lovin' niece is a student at Hillsdale and she loves the place. Lot of kids there from the western suburbs. As a D2 school they are pretty decent in football and have a couple of guys in the NFL draft watch list. Also the alma mater of former Packer placekicker Chester Marcol.

It's an unfortunate situation, hopefully the last thing Patton does to this program (recruiting Miller who from the start nobody believed could play on this level).

I'm sure Montgomery should have handled it better, we'll never know the full story, probably both parties at fault. But its over and done, let the Montgomery era fully begin, all his guys.

Hillsdale is a very good school. Don't accept government money but all financial needs are met through other means. One of the few schools where you get a true "liberal arts" education.

RE: DC: NIU finds 'floor general'
wow, out of the mainstream much? hope Zach enjoys the right wing indoctrinaton.....Sincerely doubt there is any "liberal" in the liberal arts program.

"Hillsdale’s modern rise to prominence occurred in the 1970s. On the pretext that some of its students were receiving federal loans, the Department of Health, Education and Welfare attempted to interfere with the College’s internal affairs, including a demand that Hillsdale begin counting its students by race. Hillsdale’s trustees responded with two toughly worded resolutions: One, the College would continue its policy of non-discrimination. Two, "with the help of God," it would "resist, by all legal means, any encroachments on its independence."

Following almost a decade of litigation, the U.S. Supreme Court decided against Hillsdale in 1984. By this time, the College had announced that rather than complying with unconstitutional federal regulation, it would instruct its students that they could no longer bring federal taxpayer money to Hillsdale. Instead, the College would replace that aid with private contributions."

Right, I meant more that regardless of who recruited them, if players make it through a season with a coach, things must be ok. You often see players leave right after a coaching change and the 1st season after the coaching change.

Glad someone backed me up on this and I am not the one smoking illegal substances. Only thing I can think of is 79's niece is a libertarian not an ultra liberal and 79 is confused by the difference.
