x 100 Mark. Other programs do just fine attending games no matter the time or day. I spoke with a couple of individuals in the AD Dept. Seems this is one of the main concerns, from power conf, about a UC addition.

I will give credit where credit is due though. UC does garner major props for its bowl attendance and traveling to away games.

People posting on here aren't looking for excuses, they are just being realistic about what they expect from the fans based on past results.

I assume most of us would watch UC play a Division III team.

I hope you are right, cinbin. I remember walking out of Neyland Stadium and the masses of UC fans were ready to run Butch Jones out of town. I think after turning it around to win a share of the BE followed by a nice bowl victory, fans are back on the Butch Jones train. But I do believe we're in somewhat of a fragile state. I hope we can get a nice crowd out to the opener against Pitt with the outcome of that game potentially having a big impact on fan interest.

I should have clarified my response by saying 'rational fans'.

Yes... a 4-8 record will tend to do that.

But, I think the season ticket crowd (which generally favors Nippert) and the walk up crowd (which generally doesn't) are two different animals. We could very well increase the season ticket sales, but encounter a slight decline in overall attendence.

Really good point that we need to distinguish between the two. PBS is definitely more favorable to the walk-up crowd who at least know where the hell PBS is.

warningsigns - I apologize - I wasn't referring to those on here.

I believe those on here, for the most part, do not have issues with attending, regardless of day/time. Of course things come up, such as family responsibilities. I prefer games on Sat either later afternoon or night. Seems to work best for myself and others. However, I am able to rearrange the schedule to attend Thurs/Fri night and Sat. nooners. Its those, not on here, who always come up with some excuse not to attend.

Believe me - I had 3 tickets to the Uconn game last year and contacted over 25 people. I heard every reason in the world why they could not attend. These were self proclaimed huge UC and College Fball fans.

I was in the same boat. I had several different people earlier in that week ask me if I had extras to the UConn game. But they said they were waiting to see whether USF beat WVU on Thursday night so our game vs. UConn would be to determine whether we landed in a BCS bowl. After WVU squeaked out the win vs. USF, suddenly on Friday everyone had obligations on Saturday that they couldn't get out of.

Yeah - I was pretty frustrated. You would think free tics to watch a share of the BE CH, including attending our tailgate with free food/beverages would be enticing. Plus, if I remember the weather wasn't bad.

RE: 2012 Football Schedule
If you have free tickets and cannot unload them go ahead and pm me. HA. I bought season tickets for a 4 years after graduating from UC, but since I started law school at NKU finances are not as tight. i still find a way to get to every home game, and some road games, but I've had to get creative in finding tickets and have people I know on the constant lookout.

I'll be at every home game again this year I am sure, but not buying season tickets for the second straight year. I got free tickets to a few games last year (including the one at tennessee), and then was able to find tickets below face for pretty much any other game.

End of me shamelessly begging for free tickets.

No, I see the Miami game is played in Cincinnati this year, so the Victory Bell will never have to leave campus, unlike last year when we had to haul it to that God forsaken backwater and back.

Cincinnati has won 6 straight and the last 3 by a combined score of 109 - 16 and some one is talking ****? That's bold. Is bold the right word?

Yes, as a Miamian it's been brutal to watch. We have been sputtering along after a bad coaching hire a few years back. We've also been beatin by Ohio 6 years straight. There have been many times Miami has beatin UC 5 years straight (and Ohio). I'm not talking smack, just predicting the end of a long overdue draught.

The sleeping giant will awake eventually. It's only a matter of time. I'm looking forward to a competitive, hard fought game by both sides.

Wasn't it Andre Revels who said it should be set in cement because "it's staying here!"?

Miami, thanks for the visit. I hope it's an injury-free game. But, I won't care too much how competitive it is, as long as we win 03-nerner

As both a Miami (Oh) and Cincinnati fan I can honestly say that the Bearcats will win 9 out of the next 10 games against the Redhawks. The simple reason is the talent level at UC is far-and-away better than MU and the gap is widening. Fact of being in an AQ conference vs. a non-AQ conference.

Exaggeration at its finest. Miami has an all-time record of winning 25% vs the Big Ten yet UC thinks they will win 90% going forward? No chance.

Miami vs:

ACC 5-8-1
SEC 11-15-1
B1G 13-42-2
Cincy 59-50-7

Beat us 7 more times and you will even the record vs us.

Historically Miami wins 60% of the time we play UC. I will give UC credit that the Big East has given them financial resources that is an advantage to them over us now, but they will take their fair share of losses going forward. I'd say that UC will now win 60% going forward. A UC loss is way overdue.

RE: 2012 Football Schedule
History does win a single football game. Point of fact: UC has the better athletes and the better coaching staff. Miami may improve, but as long as they play in the Mid-American Conference, they will never seriously compete with upper echelon AQ teams. Simply fact.

FYI, I started at Miami in 1964 and graduated from Miami in 1992. 20 years in the Army made for little problems making academic progress on the different DMZs of the world.

RE: 2012 Football Schedule
We have done fine recruiting against UC and winning our fair share so the talent gap can't be quite as large as you claim(although there is one )

Dave Deleon had a Tennessee, Cincy, and Miami offer. Chose Miami
Austin Gearing had UC and Miami offer. Chose Miami
Orlando Davis had Rutgers, Miami and UC offer. Chose Miami
Terry Davis had NC state, Cincy, Miami offer. Chose Miami
Brandyn Cook had Cincy, Pitt, Miami offer. Chose Miami
Jamire Westbrook had Cincy, Indiana, Miami offer. Chose Miami

UC has a MAC head coach and staff

Look, I'm not denying that UC's Big East membership now gives them the upper-hand that will no longer allow Miami to win 60% but to say that UC will win 90% is crazy talk. Miami is in a slump, UC is playing good, plus a slight gap in programs (MAC vs Big East) = UC having a 6 game win streak. Miami will win 4 out of 10 going forward.

Starts this year with Dysert as a senior QB and UC not strong at QB.

Good Luck Bearcats, but go Miami!
