Those last ten games without a bye will be a killer, regardless of opponent.
Two byes in September. Not so good.
I think it's just one bye, Rag. We play the 6th (Thursday) then Sat 9/15, then off 9/22, then back 9/29.

I like that only two of our games aren't on a Saturday. The Thursday nighter against Pitt should be great, and the day-after-Thanksgiving game at home against USF will be nice as well.

The at-Toledo, at-UL combo will be really difficult. I think that's the hardest section of the schedule.

It's weird not having WVU on there anywhere. Temple should be good but that's still quite a dropoff.

Nice to have 7 true home games even with the 2 FCS schools. I remember a few years ago when we looked ahead to 2012, we had OSU, VT, TCU, WVU, UL all as away games and we were just hoping to go 5-7.

Preliminary predictions:

Pitt/Del St/VT/Miami: 3-1
Fordham/Toledo/UL/Syracuse: 3-1
Temple/Rutgers/USF/UConn: 2-2

Puts us at 8-4, roughly 4-3 in conference. Just fine for a rebuilding year.

We waste a bye the first week of the season. You only get two per season, and we will not be playing 9/1 or 9/22. Then it will be 10 in a row as BJ mentioned.
Anybody else hate that we have to play AT UConn in December?

On the flip-side, USF has to play us in Cincy at the end of November. Although they'd have probably completed their annual collapse by then, it's still nice to know they'll have to play us in 30s and snow.
I am fine with the schedule. 7 true home games, only one section of back to back road games and the Bearcats get two of the projected top 3 at home. pretty good from where I sit
It's a very winnable schedule but I will say 8-4 at best with what they have returning. The QB position in particular scares the living hell out of me. QB is just scary looking for this team, no matter how you slice it. I wish a Ben Mauk type of transfer would pop up out of the blue.
Positive side of things is that with the shift to semesters starting next fall we won't hear the complaints about games being played before students are on campus anymore.

Fordham is kind of a bye.

Even then that is 7 straight games that decide our season. I really hate the schedule this year, but not much we can do about it at this point.
The way the schedule is constructed is not that great, but the quality of the opposition does not make the schedule that cumbersome.

Agreed, but that annoys me too.

It's funny cause 2 years ago I was incredibly excited about playing just an awesome schedule. OSU, VT, TCU, WVU, plus the good teams left on ours now. Wow how things change quickly.

Two FCS teams at home (and dreadful ones at that), really sucks.

True but I hate playing BJ Daniels every year. He always seems to have the sh*tiest seasons then plays like Peyton Manning against the Bearcats. It frustrates the hell out of me each season.

That schedule would have be awesome LAST season but if things remained the same we'd prolly go 1 - 3 at best against those teams. Our previously set OOC with Ohio State, Va-Tech, and San Diego State resembled a MAC/Sun Belt schedule than an AQ conference schedule.

That immediately jumped out at me as well. That is almost guaranteed to be a noon game. Probably cold, windy and the field will most likely be slippery as it always seems to be up there. That's really the only opponent in the BE where I feel like playing on the road is a major disadvantage for some reason.

Some reason? Try the field sux and so does the weather. it may be cold in Cincy but at least the field holds up. Their fields look like large patches of grass surrounded by even larger patches of shite. For a precision offense like ours, the loss of traction can cost us the game.

LOL, you are right. In 2008, our guys were slipping all over the place. In 2010, our guys just played like crap. But for some reason, even when I watch their games in October, it always looks like it's about 35 degrees with 20 mph winds. And somehow the field is always wet.

What might help is that UC is more of a running team now but yea the traction on the field sucks. The Rent must be the furthest North venue that uses a grass field. Mike Brown would be proud.
