Dave Starman (TV Analyst) sent DeKeyser a tweet congratulating him and WMU on their year. DeKeyser replied by saying "Well be back and even stronger next year"

I take this as he is strongly leaning towards coming back to WMU next year?

They did have that throwaway comment during the game where Murray told the TV guys that he'd have all 6 d-men back next season.

Is there a deadline for Danny to have to make a decision? Or can this drag on all summer?

It can drag on endlessly. UMD had a guy go pro over X-mas break 2010. Obviously didn't hurt them much.

I kind of doubt it will based on the talk that most teams are going to at least call and offer. Probably know in the first month or two.

i don't see him changing his mind--i just can't say that anything is ever a guarentee. my october comment was just me saying how much i want it to be october already--the season ended too abruptly for me.

i do know that these guys are really hungry for next season. und left a bad taste in their mouths. these guys are going to be hitting the weightroom hard this summer--not like they didn't last year but for most of them this next year will define their 4 years.

October can't come soon enough!

last year, we were happy to get to the tournament and work on getting back on the map. Now these guys are hungry and pissed. It's gonna be a fun year. Just too damn bad i won't be living in the Zoo next year. Might have to invest in Bronco Insider.

Hate to say it but...the "strike while the iron is hot" might still apply. And yes...I'm sure money will be part of the decision. Remember...a hockey player can be only one bad season or one injury from being in demand. Would love it for us if he stays.....and he probably wants to...BUT...still wouldn't blame him for taking advantage of the demand that exists now...certainly he has to think about the above.

Speaking generally in observing college UFA's signing with NHL teams, if we make it to the end of the AHL regular season (April 8) without anyone leaving, we'll avoid the worst case scenarios where multiple guys jump early to the show. Usually they want to get a couple weeks in professional hockey ASAP for early adjustment/learn what to work on in the offseason.

You can still lose a guy over the summer of course, but it's not as common and late moves like that tend to be draft picks signing with their team.

After one of the players tweeted last night that the "boys were heading to the grotto" and DD announcing he will be returning....and Mike Leone's tweet just now "holy headache".....I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that they had a pretty good time last night.
