If Tennessee was truly the 2nd best team they would have been in the ncaas. Great win but Tennessee wasnt as good as Kentucky, Vandy, Florida or Bama. Did the Gophers win?

UT beat Florida twice and split with Vandy so I would argue that they are on par with those teams. Stop trying to diminish our win and run along.

UT would have been an NCAA team had Stokes been eligible at the beginning of the year. Instead they took some poor losses trying to form a team.
They finished 4th in the SEC.

It was a great win and in front of the loudest crowd I've ever seen us play in front of.
Credit where credit is due, the Vol fans were loud and involved and the entire arena stood up for at least a dozen different key possessions.
So glad I was able to witness it in person.

Tennessee teams better than UT:
Memphis (NCAAs and beat UT twice)
Vandy (NCAAs)
MTSU (beat them in NIT)
Belmont (NCAAs)
Austin Peay (beat them in regular season)
congrats UT...6th best team in Tennessee

A game between Vandy and Memphis would be entertaining; I would put them interchangeably as #1 and #2 in the state this year with MT close behind them.

Yet they are still ranked second in the SEC on the SEC website...

A win at home and off to MSG.
Take down the Gophers, would be a great run to see you guys in the finals.

Just to set the record straight Tennessee tied for 2nd in the SEC at 10-6 with Vandy and Florida. And as mentioned they beat Fla head-to-head twice and split with Vandy.

I'm pumped! We'll definitely have a big advantage from the home crowd. The line is MT -3 and the crowd will be the 6th man as usual. Go Blue Raiders and MSG or Bust!

look for an ugly game. the tubster it gonna throw defense on ya and that's kinda your calling card as well.
can't be much uglier than our ncaa game but a win is a win. don't bother going to their boards. they're a typical bcs conference makeup of fans. they'll be giving you guys no shot.
we played them in charleston very early this year and they have a lot of length that you don't see in the belt. they'll prolly be the biggest team you've faced this year.
good luck.

I'm not trying to diminish the win, but this certainly was a game MTSU should win this year. MTSU was better, Tennessee got the seeding based on their name, not accomplishment.
I hope MT goes and wins the whole thing, though my in laws would pistol whip for that all being Gopher fans. It makes the state as a whole look better when ALL of our programs are successful at their respective levels of competition.
Let me ask you guys this, was this win a great win because it was against Tennessee or more so because it was a win against a "great" basketball team? I just don't believe Tennessee was a consistently good team all year, even in the stretch run.
Get the win tonight, get to New York and get some free publicity!

I'm not sure of the point you are trying to make. Every time a "have not" beats a "have", its a great win because it shows people the capability mid-majors have and challenges the dogma that the big schools are the greatest thing since sliced bread. You say its not a big deal because Tennessee wasn't good, I say its a big deal because it shows Tennessee wasn't good.
