Big 12 Realignment: A Lot of Moving Pieces
Interesting perspective....BYU as the 11th Big 12 school forcing the conference to look for a 12th

From the article:

And while BYU would likely have been invited to get the conference back to 10 schools, it's unclear whether they bring in enough money to be worth coming in as the 11th school, especially since adding them would likely necessitate a 12th member.

That's not what Colton on Insidetheville has been saying. He said his sorce in the Kansas office has said we where #11 and would have been #10 if not for the TV executives.

RE: Big 12 Realignment: A Lot of Moving Pieces
Colton has been saying Louisville is a lock IF expansion happens. Louisville is a superior choice to BYU in everything but TV, and TV may trump all as we saw how basically most of the Big 12 preferred UofL over WVU until TV said they preferrred WVU footballl numbers. I'm not sure how big a deal it is though because I don't see UofL and BYU competing for spots. It's both or none.

CC,
That's how I see it as well. I would love to say we are 11 and The Big 12 is going to take us no matter what. Unfortunately I don't believe that to be the case. I too believe it is both or none.

Oh it's a big deal allright, just ask Southern Piss and ECWho how much TV matters.

If it weren't for TV markets you know good and well that schools like Shirley Temple and Mempiss Stank woundn't be in before them.

I don't mean to say TV doesn't matter. I do think that for Louisville the TV numbers may be a neutral. They aren't strong enough to be a key positive well above other strong programs, they they are strong enough to not be a big detractor like you see for ECU and USM where they have rural locations and are a full zero on the basketball TV side of things.

I beleive from all I have read, heard and seen that 2012 is our last year in the Big East. I think Louisville will be in the Big 12 for the start of the 2013 football season! 04-cheers

Every thing I have seen has stated that Louisvile is the 11th school once the Big12 decides to expand. There is even the president of OU saying that Louisville is needed to strengthing the conference as well as giving WVU a closer neighbor in connecting the footprint.

I have not seen anything what so ever stating BYU is the 11th school, but have read several rumors about possible ACC schools Clemson and Florida State could be added, but not BYU as the 11th member.

I thought when the discussions from the B12 with UL on alcohol sales in Yum! and PJ's as a model for the league was a sign We would get in last year until WVU did their Swan Dive move on the BE. I was at the old stadium when We thumped Texas 41 - 7. They brought a large following and a Steer. They were in shock to say the least. Look forward to repeat that one again under Strong.
