The MAC needs to look to JMU. They may not bring a huge market, but I feel like they bring a lot of intangibles, even for football-only.

However if Temple leaves the A-10, the A-10 won't be nearly as attractive as it is now and we might want to try to convince UMass to join for all sports.

it's a little to early to speculate, C-USA has to stablize 1st.
i'm sure the pirana are circling now.
Did the MAC get in contact with Marshall & East Car
i would think that the 1st move

I guess Temple would contemplate a football only offer (if on the table). There's no way I can see them accepting an all sports offer...costs and travel and lack of rivalries would outweigh any possible better TV deal, plus the hoops would be no better than A 10 and possibly worse with UCF, Memphis and San Diego State all leaving. (the Alliance if it comes off).

ECU would never consider the MAC...not sure about Marshall..suspect they'll both hold out hope that the Alliance thing comes together and they can somehow pull in another eastern school or two to help form a reasonable eastern division. But it doesn't really look like any new league candidates will be anywhere near Greenville and H-ton.

JMU bridges the gap.

I don't know why East Car would not at least look into MAC.
EC took FB only in MAC & allsports in A-10 would work for them.
EC already puts together a nice OOC FB sch
who in C-USA is better matchup than MAC
Marshall would be a wash
SoMiss would be game EC does not want to give up
UAB, Tulane & Rice all draw MAC like #'s
Tulsa not bad
UTEP will be gone

I really don't think C-USA is going to make an opening for a DIAA looking to move up...the MAC might. Oh yeah, they already did (UMass).

Why do we need another d1-AA school??? Toledo already has a hard enough time trying to get fans to come out and watch Toledo hammer the EMU's, Buffalo's, and Kent's of the MAC. I can't wait to see the reaction when UMASS has to come to the Glass Bowl. Marshall would be fun back in the MAC, but they don't have the balls to come play at Toledo.

NO C-USA team will ever drop down to the MAC. C-USA will just pick up the best schools just like the pecking order dictates

B1G/SEC
Big 12/Pac12
ACC
Big East
CUSA/MWC
Mac/Sun Belt/quite a few FCSteams
Wac/rest of FCS

You know a lot of basketball programs feel the same way when the rockets come to town...

That board went insane when all of the UCF mods were moved to the Big East board. TampaKnight was really a good guy and did a great job.

I'm obnoxious for stating facts? Answer me this question then, if the MAC was so much better than CUSA and MWC then why aren't your teams being picked off by the Big East?

It's not a fact, and your perceptions are dated. The college football world has changed, and C-USA has dropped a few rungs.

The past is not the present. The good CUSA teams are gone. Here's a question for you: Why hasn't your own team been picked by the Big East? Or all the other leftovers? C-USA's strength is gone while the MAC remains whole. The MAC just had to stay where it was while the Big East devoured the best of C-USA and left a dead husk in its place. CUSA fell below the MAC.

MAC's best teams

UNI
Ohio
Temple
Toldeo

C-USA's best teams

USM
UH (gone)
Tulsa
SMU (gone)
Marshal
ECU
UTEP
UCF (gone)

Not to mention USM has been to Omaha recently, won the football championship, and has a chance to win the basketball regular season championship and is still in the conference.

This won't end well. Common knowledge and sense aren't really welcome over here.

However, if you're in favor of ECU joining the MAC they will tell you how much sense that makes.

When did Northern Iowa join the MAC?
