Yeah, Im glad those got erased. I dont use the system too much, I give out the occasional positives for good posts, dont do negatives but seeing folks blatently abuse that system as a way of "attacking" someone on the forum is definitely a practice I like seeing the mods crack down on.

The best part: I hadn't posted here in at least a month 'cause of work related travel and being away from a computer. He just up and decided to do it. I believe the mods reversed it though, because I know I messaged one about it. I came back to post in an off week, and there it was....in all his boneheaded glory.

Well the B12 is getting 6 mil per year per school more than the rumored new ACC deal, so I would think FSU and Clemson would think about it. If adding those 2 increased the b12 deal by 52 mil or more, then they would get another 1mil or more, extra per year. 7 to 9 mil per year adds up.

Unless they feel like Clemson and FSU would be home runs in the Big 12 and be better business to give the money to the Big 12 and then scale back the ACC later(with 3 extra years to boot).

I have been a nay-sayer that FSU would think about going to the B12-2, but lets say that FSU is really interested. They go ahead and say they are going to join. You now have the UF, with the former OC from UT and was rumored to take over the HC job there at the time, realizing that every year, a UT, Oklahoma, OSU and other schools from the Big12-2 conference will be playing in Fla. every year. Fsu will also be going more to Texas to play conference games their. I would have to believe that the recruiting for FSU and the conference, as a whole, would be better for having two of the best states to recruit in. What would the UF or the SEC think of that. My take is that FSU is really not interested, but if they were, I can't believe that UF or the SEC would allow it to happen.

How exactly would they stop it? By inviting FSU to the SEC? I would still be of the opinion that Florida would find protecting their position as the only SEC team in the state of florida more important than keeping Florida State from traveling to Texas more than Florida will. Granted the move to the Big 12 will help even the playing field between the two floridian juggernauts but I don't think Florida will cave on this. Besides, South Carolina and Georgia would probably hold them to their voting agreement against FSU, Clemson and GT.

UF has always been the top dog in Fla. and the rivalry, although not as big nationally the last few years, is still one where UF needs to show they are top in the state. I believe that that would be threatened. Also, having teams like UT and Oklahoma coming into your back yard every year would make a difference to the SEC.

You may say that the ATM situation is the same, but I believe ATM doesn't have the same national recognition or recruiting power.

There is not a shred of evidence that either Clemson or FSU is looking to leave the ACC. If there was, it would have been reported by ANY news outlets (and I am not talking about some blogger with an agenda).

What's happening here is not too hard to figure out. Virtually all of these rumors on these boards are either started or fed by WVU posters who obviously are award that under the current B12 configuration they are very much on an island, with their closest conference mate about 900 miles away. As a BC fan, there is a delicious irony here in that WVU posters were constantly mocking BC as being on an island when they moved to the ACC - with their closest conference foe at the time a mere 450 miles away. (About half the difference as WVU's closest new conference foe!)
