Actually, if the refs had been doing their job, they would have counted players, pointed out that the Cajuns had 6 on the court and waited for one to get off before putting the ball in play. No technical foul would have been assessed. That is what their job is coming out of a time out.

I don't believe there is anyone who walks out of this without mud on their face.

The three officials look stupid.

The scorekeeper completely failed.

The Cajuns get the embarassment of letting it happen and get painted as trying to slip one by when the staff and players just botched it. At some point someone had to realize something was off with their offensive set.

WKU comes off bad, how do you let 21 seconds elapse without bringing it to an official's attention? You go get your own technical foul if you have to. The players set up for defense and don't notice and point it out?

Bicker around all you want, all involved were shamed last night and I think that likely helped push WKU over the edge pulling the trigger.

Mark, I am not arguing that the Cajuns did not screw up.. Just pointing out that if the scorer and officials had done their job correctly, there would still have been no technical foul assessed.

I am calling the moderators out on this one. There is a lot of blame to go around here. A big black eye for many. However, they let Winston the Chump open this thread by using that the Ragin Cajuns are idiots. What a Krock!! It should read that the Refs are idiots. Yet they sit on there lords and do nothing!! All I can say is game on!!

Look the better team won last night, congratulations etc, HOWEVER.

To say that 6 men had no effect is absurd.

If nothing else the spacing is affected.

You can see in the video posted earlier that the 6 Louisiana players were spaced out evenly and the 5 WKU players were reacting to that (whether they knew they were defending 6 or not). The whole last twenty seconds is a give and take... offensive players making moves, defensive players reacting to those moves. When the layup is made, the offensive players are in a different position then they would have been with 5 and the defensive players are in a different position than if they had been guarding 5.

And even if you don't agree with that your team made a mistake. By rule the penalty for that mistake is two free throws and the ball.

Do you think that two free throws and the ball would have made a difference in the game? Because by RULE that is what WKU was entitled to.

If a technical had been called, WKU would have been entitled to two shots. But the "two shots and the ball" thingy was changed about five years ago.

In this case, WKU would have gotten two free throws and then the game would have reverted to where it was when the tech was called...wtih a Cajuns possession

Two shots and the ball only applies if it's an intentional foul or if your team already had possession when the tech was called.

On Marlin's technical, WKU got two shots and the ball because, prior to the technical, a player control foul had been called against the Cajuns, giving WKU possession.

You don't know as much about this game as you claim.
