Heck, Space-Mountain get's more coverage in Orlando than the UCF football program.

Last I checked we are all under the same television contracts. In those deals UCF games have been picked up more by the major networks. Fox picked 2 this year (ESPN pick up our away game too) ESPN picked 3 the year before

Every game UCF has played the last few years has been on tv in some form, either through the tier 1 right holder Fox/ESPN or a lower tier like CBS or Brighthouse Networks. We get plenty of coverage in Orlando. Even the games against FCS teams get picked up for tv, anyone broadcasting your Sela game?

The cable provider for Orlando and Tampa is a major contributor and even bought the naming rights for the stadium... and you think we don't get coverage in Orlando? 03-lmfao

I have lived outside of N.O. for 20 years. I have many friends, that may not be die hard USM fans, often ask me if we are on and what channel. They are very aware of us, and would and do watch us on tv. This includes the New Orleans area as well as the North Shore.

RE: Southern Miss AD addresses realignment
I thought USF fans were bad, but you guys take the cake. You have a serious hard on for Southern Miss, and it's very confusing. Explain it to me. And don't give me the AD speech stuff. That doesn't warrant this level of pms. You guys are geared up like nobody's business. Is it youngest child syndrome? So scared you're going to get left out that you take offense to everything in sight? Does it stem from an inferiority complex? Or is it just regular old Orlando d.ouchebaggery? I've never seen a fan base lose their mind so quickly over something that effects them so little. Are you really that pissed about the 5-1 record? When you can't beat em, biitch at em?Are you trying to build a rivalry? I mean, I remember the recruit was just got talking about how your players all had Southern Miss logos in front of their weight benches for inspiration, but I never thought you were this obsessed. What, exactly, crawled up your rears and sent you over the edge? Maybe you just need a nap.

Its about your AD saying you have a top 5 DMA in the nation, and you guys defending him. Sure USM is a nice school with fans all over, but what he wrote was one of the most delusional and idiotic things i've ever seen. Besides, UCF fans wouldn't keep harping on this if USM fans wouldn't blindly defend the idiotic statement.

What's funny is that this guy is bragging about living there, then claiming he knows all 1 million people and which team each and every one of them supports. And they're talking to us about overextending our reach.01-wingedeagle

30% of USM's student population over the last 10 years hails from Louisiana, particularly Metairie/Mandeville/Covington/New Orleans/ surrounding areas.

I guarantee you there is a viable Southern Miss market in New Orleans.

Not buying it. You're skewing too many statements, ignoring too many facts, and spending too much time trying not to understand how marketing a conference tv package works for that to be the case. You've got something else driving you. UCF fans are the only ones throwing hissy fits about this article, and it's on the other board too. You guys have freaked right the fork out over something that doesn't really effect you, and have decided that this minuscule, vague, manufactured issue would be your sounding board. I mean, you guys have repeatedly thrown the same lines at us, verbatim, about wins, records, championships, coaches, budget, etc... Are you really that scared of us? Do we really freak you out THAT much. Hell, one Eagle already said that we know you have a better shot at getting pulled up to a BCS conference than we do. We get it, why don't you? Calm yourselves. Take a valium if you need to.

UCF has coverage in miami, broward county, jacksonville and atlanta. Im waiting for Tribble to come out with a letter saying our DMA is really 24.5 million, which would put us 20million above USM!!!!

Hey if it's true release some numbers showing your ratings in those areas and showing you beating out AQ teams in that area. We did it and they are out there for everyone to see. I'm not sure why you are so butt-hurt over this. If ECU and USM's claims are so outlandish then the people that matter will know it. If they aren't then the people that matter will know it as well.

its a sports message board, are we not allowed to discuss this? I didnt know the topic was taboo.

Even ECU's own Chancellor knows much of what Terry Holland spews is horse hockey...as ECU's Chancellor said this last fall (believe Holland called him immediately afterward and said "PLEASE STOP TELLING THE TRUTH!")

ECU Chancellor said of the importance of TV Markets and winning:

"We've actually been working on conference realignment for years and years and doing everything we could. The one thing I want to make sure everybody knows is that I believe Terry Holland everybody at ECU including and all the way up to the board have done everything we can do to position ourselves for the best possible conference affiliation. The bad news is there is no question in my mind that TV revenues control everything. All the things that we can control, the eight or nine variables from facilities to performance to integrity and all those things, may account for 10 to 15 percent of any conference realignment.

"If you can't bring new revenues to whoever might be looking at you, and unfortunately that has an awful lot to do with the number of TV sets and a little bit to do with the perceived recruiting area that you're in, then you're not going to be considered like universities in the bigger cities unfortunately. That does not ever help Greenville."

You need to work on reading comprehension...He was pointing out that the market you are in is important but unfortunately Greenville's market is not very big...Hence the reason our administration has taken the time and effort to document that ECU's markets extends outside the Greenville/New Bern/Washington market. I do not see how the above statement contradicts anything Terry Holland has said...There is no disputing the Greenville market is just not as big as others.

Geez, some of you UCF guys are just not very intelligent...It gets exhausting at times.

What does having WATCH PARTIES (UCF has them all over the nation by the way) have to do with STRONG LOCAL MEDIA COVERAGE?

Wow...I know the river water is dirty...but one shouldn't drink it.

That's almost as bad as a ECU fan who saw a Pirate bumper sticker on a car in Washington, DC that DC is a STRONG ECU Market as well.

You are just nit picking now. I've noticed your developing trend of pulling excerpts of information out of what people say to format your arguments. Shows lack of creativity and poor discussion skills.

UCFMike... 1-5 is really bothering you isn't it ? .... Southern Miss does get pretty good coverage throughout Mississippi, South Alabama, South Louisianna... Fact is im sure more New Orleans natives are clammoring for USM coverage, than Tampa natives, Gainesville natives, Tallahassee natives and even Boca Raton natives give a flyin sh!t about UCF coverage in their respected areas.

Thank you, thank you. We are very excited to embark upon this new journey in our lives, and we just want to say, we are deeply honored to be chosen. We know there was another choice out there, but what else can you say about the runner up, other than... 5-1
