Let's hope all of the conference searching is true, and that he isn't just saying that to get our name in the mix of things.

Not that this would ever happen, but there has been talk between the CUSA West schools, Memphis, USM, Kansas, K-State, Baylor, ISU, and certain parts of the MWC. I think there is an effort to setup a back up plan between a combination of those schools if things go haywire for the remaining Big 12 schools.

this was actually in response to several fans saying "if you're keeping it under the radar, that's fine, but just let us know you're not sitting on your ass while the world falls to pieces around us"

Maybe I'm missing something....but you list six schools, and the MWC
will have ten members. Will this make a nice 16 member conference ?

IMO this 16 schools would make a very good basketball conference,
but sort of soft on FB.

To where? I just find all of this humorous. The math is too simple to not understand, the AQ teams only need one more than half the total of FBS teams to do whatever they want and they won't take any more than that because it becomes dilutive. You're not going to end up with 5 superconferences so it's not like 80 teams are going to find a home. The number is 64 which means maybe there's room for one or two outsiders.

If anyone thinks they will be one of those schools they are most likely very wrong. Why worry about it? You can't control it, well actually you could have if you would have been a lot more generous with your donations over the years, but it's too late now. The chips are going to fall where they fall and the sun will rise tomorrow.

Banker, there is no room for any outsiders. in fact depending on what ND does there will be 3 or 4 current insiders left out.

I do not think there is a team in this league that does not want to leave for an AQ conference...It is not so much of an issue with CUSA and its members but more of an issue of survival at the highest level of College Football.

That's exactly my question as well. We are in arguably the best overall Non-AQ conference in the country. If you don't like it and don't want to improve CUSA then why not just get the hell out? I'm sure the Wac, Mac, and maybe event the Sunbelt will take you in.

All this pimping crap is getting old. Its embarrassing to the league and I think it slows down the progress this conference could be making.

Just for the record, when you tally up four conferences of 16 teams that means only 64 are getting in. Currently there are 67 BCS school spread accross the conferences. Meaning.....that three schools is likely going to get left out. Who are those three? I don't know. The point is that the BCS cartel wants to keep it all together to themselves. They don't want any of us. Its all smoke and mirrors. At the end of the day it will be 64 teams with 3 of them likely having to find a new home.
