The Temple Pimp/Pan Thread [split] Syracuse Blogger Dares to Say it

We might be one of the 4 standing mega conferences and we should try to get schools that will be loyal through and through. We cannot have a school that might potentially look elsewhere because we have a hybrid + ND. They should also know that our conference won't ever be that "it" conference in football but we are by far the best conference in basketball.
Criteria for the 3 schools if we hold the line after the reshuffle...
1.) Emphasis on basketball but has a decent football program
2.) Strong football program
3.) Will not be one of the rumor schools thats been talked about moving to the SEC or Big10.

Temple meets all three. Temple sounds like a lock.

Temple meets number three. And unfortunately, that is the wrong one to meet.

yea, you gotta change the criteria. Rig the game a bit
1. Averages more than 19,000 fans per game
2. Lost coach to Miami
3. School name begins with letter "T"
O-K Now Temple is a lock.

I don't know. If you broadened number two to just "lost coach to a BCSschool" then Tulane, Tulsa, and Texas Tech would still be a better fits.
I should also point out that if you take out the Nova game, Troy and Toledo also averaged more fans per game than Temple. Actually of all ten D1A teams whose name begins with "T" Temple (sans the Nova bump) has the lowest average attendance. The same is true for 2009, except you don't even have to exclude the Nova game for anyone other than Toledo. In 2008, well they are below all of them, inclduign being 9,000 below Tulsa.

You are an idiot if you believe Nova fans bump the Temple attendance more then a few thousand... Nova is at home and plays Penn (another local school) just 2 weeks later and there are 8k fans. So for Temple games they show up but home games against another city rival they get 8k fans and that other school brings no one. (upenn has 10k for dartmoth the week after....)?
Temple
1. Top 10 all time basketball program who routinly makes the NCAA tournament and is ranked.
2. 17 wins in two years.. beat Big East Champion Uconn..
3. Perfect fit in geography and university type.
Temple a perfect match...
