We pass Reid or Boehner or some compromise. Immediate crisis solved. Rating agencies downgrade us. Then we have to get serious about actually solving the problem. That's not the worst-case scenario.

I think Boehner will have the votes. The Hill's whip list is no where close to being up to the minute. And they're flat guessing on some which have a history of falling in line wherever asked seriously to (like Trey).

There's what we want and what we can get. Cut, Cap and Balance what what we wanted, this plan is what it appears we can get.

As long as Obama is President and Reid is Majority Leader we will never get the cuts we want or need.

It will get 218 votes and die in the Senate.

But I'd like to float that it could be a fairly savy political play they are making, with certain republicans playing the role of no votes right up until the vote is taken, then they move it over the goal line with like 225 or more votes, bolstering Bohner's position as Leader. That will get him solid press coverage as a strong leader, thus bolstering his bargaining position.

Then it makes it more difficult for Reid to kill it in the Senate when senators like Landrieu, Mankins, Nelson (FL) and Nelson (NB) to stay in line given their states.

Apparently the vote is postponed. Maybe enough spines are out there to prevent this abortion from passing.
