So what is it, can he afford it or not? If he can, then what's the beef about taxes on rich people? If he can't, then why is he buying it?
Yes he can afford it but barely. He's 24 years old has a (paid off) older vehicle, has $30K in student loans, he's single and living payday to payday with an entry level position at a Fortune 500 company. He stops at Starbucks and has fast food everyday. Is he irresponsible?
financially, yes. If he doesn't complain about it, then cool. It's the people who complain about it, but then still spend on things they don't need, that need to smarten up.
So now you are an authority on what a person needs?
So telling people what they need is only okay when a politician does it?

Where the hell have you been living? In a cave? Most poor people live in a damn rental unit! They do not own a damn house. They use a frickin' laundromat to wash their clothing they don't own a dryer. So yes, to those of us not living in a frickin' cave, would realize that more poor people would have a cell phone than a dryer.
I had not considered that. You make a good point.
Sadly, it was, as usual, couched within a warrantless, childish personal attack, which, as I am only human, makes me want to change my reply to "**** you."
Want to be treated like an adult? Act like one.
Sorry, it was a long hot day at work and was really tired.

Financially, I'd say yes. But he's young, has a bright future and is entitled to live it up a little. But if something goes sour he just might wish he banked those lattes.
Says the man who spent 25,000+ on stereo equipment and god only knows how much a Mc Mansion and then lost his job and whined about his possibly losing his house. MAybe you were young and naive when you bought your stereo system?

The stereo was about $75k, and I still have it. Burned $650k on a house that I just short sold for $349k. To be honest, I couldn't avoid being laid off 6 months after buying a new house and 1 year after getting married and then having my wife's business go under 2 years later after being around for 26 years and employing 85 people. But the thing I could have avoided was being broke because my wife spends money like a democrat (she has impulse problems, plus she used our savings to try to keep the business afloat) I'm not blaming anyone (except my wife) and I'm not asking anyone to give me some of what they've earned (except my wife) I did what I had to do and now I'm in El Paso. I'll make no bones about it, I offered to help you get a good job in a decent, no-state-income-tax state and you shot me down, but I would have loved to have sat around all day figuring out how to get you fired The offer of help is still open and I'm sort of glad you keep turning it down because it means you're surviving without help or handouts. God man, you're almost a republican. Somewhere Tripster is looking down (up?) at you and smiling.
