Definitely not an advocate for the turds down south, buuuuut there are plenty of examples of players that did not get recruited by many D1 programs but turned out great in college. Wasn't Gradkowski only offered one D1 scholarship and that was by UT late in the game only because we lost Brad Smith when Pinkel went to Missouri? You never know....

There always will be those kids that one school finds and no one else was on. That could be the case with this kid, but that doesn't change the fact that right now BG is the only DI FBS school that agrees with what Flippero posted.

...and it doesn't change the fact that kids often slip through the cracks for a number of reasons...in fact I'd go so far as to say that there's enough empirical evidence to suggest that grading a kid based solely on D1 offers is a stretch.

The Pitt offer was just a verbal offer, they never came through with the paperwork.
Considering the official signing day is still 5 months away they are all "just a verbal offer" without coming "through with the paperwork".03-shhhh

I don't think you understand my comment. A commitment is verbal, but once a kid starts school in his senior year a college can send an official "paper" scholarship offer to a kid. He can only verbal back as nothing is in writing until February, but the college can and usually do send official "offer" paperwork.

I have no problem with that. My post was a fact, with evidence of no other offers being the proof. Doesn't mean it doesn't change, which I even said in the original post. It also doesn't mean that the kid cannot become a superstar and even play in the NFL one day. It was just a fact stating that right now other schools didn't feel they saw enough in him to offer him over someone else they would rather have.

I am too lazy to look it up, but I seem to recall Bruce had one other D1 offer---a basketball scholarship offer from the University of Richmond Spiders.

How about Gradkowski's brother Gino? He was a 4 star prospect. He turned down Toledo and went to West Virginia. I do not think he ever played for them and ended up transferring to Delaware. No matter what the star rating, you have to be given the opportunity to prove yourself and then actually perform.

I don't think Georgia gets a serious look from him.

Hope not.
