I am furthest thing from a racist. My assessment of the NIU situation is smack on, and that is what chills many of you to the bone. The caliber of white, black, hispanic and other race students has signficantly deteroirated in the last number of years. There are ridiculously too many people who attend NIU that have no business being in a 4 year college. Cowardly punks who carry guns and knifes around and then use them when their rationale mind fails them are lowlifes. Butler was in a situation he should not have been in. My condolscences to his family should he pass away. But it is this kind of stuff that is NOT the norm at all American public universities.

The truth hurts. So too does the deafening silence from tens of thousands of NIU alumni who have abandoned completely affiliation with their alma mater.

Thoughts and prayers with Devon and his family! This is horrible, so sick of hearing about this kind of stuff, especially at my alma mater. My little sister goes to school here still and I'm starting to get worried about her. They just built section 8 housing right next to her sorority. Why the hell would Dekalb let that happen!?! She said over the weekend someone from those section 8 apartments was running through their front lawn shooting a gun at someone. Wtf!!! Also it looks like other players and students want out too, not good pub for the school...

Btw, what is important is not what we say or do but what those not on this board say or do and I submit I have heard what the masses are saying about our university and Whiskey is dead-on.

I live in Utah and proudly fly my NIU flag at my house! Very proud of my University and love the people I meet at the games and bowl games. I find your ignorance and hatred for other humans disgusting. Please remove this piece of dung from our board!

I was reading another blog comment in the past where someone was transfering to U of I and mentioned the apartment complex they were moving into. Others responded by saying the apartment was well off campus and it wasn't safe to walk between the campus and the apartment complex at night.
