Anyone know if they went out there today given the weather conditions?

Nice words for Martel Moore, Devon Butler, Rashaan Melvin, Jamal Womble, Akeem Daniels.
Also, DeMarcus Grady has officially moved to receiver: http://www.huskiewire.com/articles/2011/.../index.xml
At least there won't be a controversy on opening night as to who our starting QB will be. Problem is this leaves us a bit shorthanded at QB. We do have 1 incoming recruit though.
How are we shorthand @ the QB position? We have Casey Weston!

Seriously, what is up with the sarcastic jokes about Casey being a backup?

I could be wrong, but I think they originate from MaddDawgs saying that Weston was going to be a big part of the Huskies offense during last season and eventual starter.

It just seems to me that we are a bit harsh on calling out players when it is only because fans expect big things from them and it isn't happening.

+1 it's almost like some start to hate players just because other people maybe like them too much.

I think the shot is more directed at MaddDawg's homerism than Weston, but I see your point.
My personal philosophy is that you can't never have too many abled-body QBs on the roster. Weston is a nice asset to have, especially with Hill transferring.

I understand, MD was completely wrong on him last year.
That being said, I don't think many of us have seen enough of Weston to really know what we have in him.

If the worst was to happen and both Harnish and Lynch were to go down, do you think they would move Grady back to QB?

I think it probably depends on what Weston ends up being.
I would think that Grady would most likely be put in before the true Freshman, although if he's really not learning the QB offense at all, it'd be hard for him to step in.

I'm excited for Womble as well...helps that he's personable and entertaining on twitter. Bell brings the feel good story at 110%.

That wasn't at all directed at Weston, but rather at how big of a :homer: MD is. But anyway to those thin skinned people who got offended by this comment I'm sorry

It's the same reason DiNunno got so much **** on this board...well that and the fact that he was really bad at point guard. Point being that someone's (MD's) terribly stupid comments can lead to jokes that are demeaning to the players themselves.
Anyway, the first practice appears to have gone well. I think Keith Otis and Jordan Delegal are sparring on twitter...and Womble is always hungry.

RE: Spring Practice Report?
It's not really about any of us being thin skinned (although if that makes you feel better, you can tell yourself that). It's just pointing out that none of us have seen what Weston can do. I understand your post was directed at MD, but it didn't really come off that way. So if you want to rip MD, rip him, but let's see Weston do something before we rip him.
DiNunno in my mind is slightly different because we actually saw him play, and it wasn't great.
