Meh. He correctly made one significant prediction (Loma Prieta - the World Series Earthquake). Most of his prediction techniques have been shown to be junk. Let's face it, if you're a frequent guest on Coast to Coast...

This guy says something similar

And gets beat up for it.

Anyway, we're halfway thru that week, nothing yet.

I heard some expert the other night stating that there was this large plate under most of the Pacific, and we have had recent activity at three of the four corners--Chile, New Zealand, Japan. Cali's next.

My prediction is that the next big quake will be either within one week before or after a full moon or within one week before or after a new moon.

There was a 2.9 quake on the SC-NC line. First 2.0+ in that area in a very long time.

Yes, this is completely irrelevant.

Well, sure, because geophysicists are just quacks. I'd much rather believe a journalist who had two cups of coffee as a geologist - African copper mining and North Sea oil rigs. I have no research to reference here but it seems crazy to me that even the energy released by a 9.0 in Japan could transfer across 5,000 miles of an incredibly massive and plastic layer of rock.

There's a reason they call it the Ring of Fire. There are earthquakes happening around the Pacific Plate all the time. California is overdue for now TWO major (8+) earthquakes. So yeah, we're next. But we've been "next" for about 100 years or so.

Ok...That is close to Cheraw....home to the best kept golf secret in the SC. Cheraw State Park. I go there with a group in September. Great place to go with a bunch of guys on a golf weekend. They have super cabins for golfers and 2 nice courses that are very reasonably priced for groups.

I am 90 miles or so east of there.

Steve, there is absolutely no doubt that California, specifically along the San Andreas Fault, is going to be hit with a massive earthquake (8.0+). Where exactly along that fault, and when, are not yet predictable. But it's been overdue for a long time.

Yes...I had a talk last Friday with an insurance guy that moved to NC last September from LA. I asked him why he moved?...He said.."I did not want my family to die in a earthquake...and ....one more traffic jam and I was going to kill myself" This was from a guy born and raised in Cali.

You're closer than I expected for eastern NC. You should let me know if you go to any Ron Paul or Gary Johnson rallies in South Carolina, as I will likely have a hand in them.

Will do...The only candidate I ever donated my labor and money to was RP. I canvased my town on foot with another fellow for 2 weeks. It was one of the most interesting things I ever did. Funny thing about it...I had very few people actually disagree with our positions other than the war. I wonder what would happen today?03-idea

My brother was the first journalist to break the 1990 Missouri prediction of the next 'big one'.

The shaman who predicted that earthquake had been relatively accurate about predicting one in San Francisco and my brother (a radio reporter in San Francisco) interviewed him about that prediction when Iben Browning then predicted a major quake in Missouri. It turned into a huge media circus, and of course, nothing happened. A year later, Browning died and was an aftermath in the obituary columns.

There have been some 6.4-6.6 quakes in Japan over the last 24 hours. I assume those are still classified as aftershocks.

(search "earthquake" on google)
