If you are watching this on ESPN2...how many miles between the campuses?

I swear they were only 12 miles apart when I was in school.

You just can't miss that many free throws and expect to win. Did anyone think on that last play they should have passed to Manns underneath who appeared to be open.

Not for nothing, but to continuously try to force things underneath against Mr. Zeke, who will play professionally in Egypt someday, we did a poor job overall. I expected a lot more. We made him look like Wilt Chamberlain, without all the female companionship. For all you younger readers, Wilt was a real stud! This really pisses me off.

Ty Linder explained why before, but I just have to repeat that the post-game radio program is the absolute worst I ever heard at any level. That slow-talker Mike Snyder going on forever about games I couldn't care less about drives me up the wall. If that doesn't change next season I'll quit listening.

RE: KSU vs. Akron
I am trying to put this into perspective. I never dreamed we would be a bucket away from a title with ten new guys last November. So, as much as it hurts to lose this one, this team came further than I ever expected.
Plus, Akron was 1-3 in title games. Sooner or later, they will win the close one. We should know about the blind squirrel....
I’m even trying to put the free throw problems into perspective. I remember a story about the late Randy Walker, the former HC at Miami then Northwestern. NU fans were all over their place kicker because he missed 2 chip shot field goals in a bowl game, which turned out to be the difference. On signing day, Walker announced he signed a place kicker, to cheers of the mostly adult fans at the event. Walker glared at the fans. He said something like, "Most of you crap your pants over a ten dollar putt that no one will ever know about. Then you’re on a 20 year old kid trying to deliver in a stadium full of fans on national TV in the biggest game of his life.”
So, I’m going to try to remember than no one wanted those shots more than our guys on the line. It was legs and mind, or a combination, that were out of their control.
So, yeah, the loss hurts. Hurts bad. But we went further than I ever thought. I still can’t wait for next year.

Lets put it behind us, its over know. Sucks to lose, double sucks to lose that school the next town over.
The Flashes need to tear it up in the NIT and stay hungry for next year. Remember, we're only losing ONE senior.
Lets Go Kent State!!!
Just in case you needed to feel better ----> Kent State reclaims Wagon Wheel trophy

Honestly, I could care less about the post-game show. What really bothers me, and I'm sure a lot of other fans, is the fact that it seems like we can't hit critical free throws if our lives' depended on it. Even in the first half. All season long. We should have kicked the living you-know-what out of them, and we let it get away. Give the landfill some credit, they played their hearts' out too, but what the hell.

Ohhhhhh gut wrenching loss! I said it earlier in the season and hate beating a dead horse but man these guys need to put in some time at the free throw line! Guyton missing two and Greene on the front end of how many 1in1's!! They definitely overachieved this year but to get this close and not finish against Akron of all teams, really hurts!!! I liked the backdoor cuts and wished we could have had one last time out to set up a play! The last possession in regulation hurt too......Man!!!! At the end of the day I'm still real proud of these guys! They played their hearts out and deserve some respect! I'm looking forward to hopefully a nice run in the NIT to get this team some post season experience and great things to come!!

The thing that bothers me the most, Zeke is better as a soph than John Edwards was as a soph. Please transfer.

RE: KSU vs. Akron
We played a great game and got beat by a team that also played well. Both teams wanted the game and fought tooth and nail. I hate Akron more than anyone, but kudos to them for winning the only game of the season that really matters. Unfortunately because of the quality of our conference, this game is the only way for us to get to the NCAA tournament. Akron will get housed in the first round of the NCAA tournament because quite frankly, they aren't that good. The bitter taste in my mouth and the fact that the MAC doesn't get at-large bids makes me want them to totally eliminate the MAC tourney. Send your best team which is always going to be the regular season champs and not the team that pulls the upset in the finals.
On to the NIT we go! Doesn't matter what happens, you cut me and I will always bleed Blue and Gold.

This is why I don't bet playing golf anymore.
It's a fallacy to think that practice alone will fix these kind of free throw problems. It's not technique; it's more about being able to change tempo (going from running up and down the court to standing still) and keeping a rhythm. Being able to control breathing, think clearly and concentrate. The teams that have more players able to do that win when it counts.
