If winning a Super Bowl is the only measure of relevance then you'd say that the Titans aren't relevant? I'd disagree there. They're sadly mediocre much of the time, but always relevant in the discussion of things.

How is Fisher not a mediocre coach? I gave you reasons why he was a mediocre coach, your opinion is all that you've given me.

I'm guessing TW also wasn't a mediocre (or less than) coach?

Ok it was hyperbole but you know what I mean. Tampa has a history of being a doormat so I thought fans would appreciate the 1 season they were on top. Guess not. I didn't say Fisher was the greatest coach ever but to say he's mediocre is wrong. He's had some good years and some bad. Most of the bad years the talent was questionable. He hasn't handled the Vince situation well since his rookie year but hey, I wouldn't want him on my team either.

7-3. We play who they put in front of us. Best team in the NFC.

Your 3rd place in your NFC south division so that will end the whole best team in the nfc discussion.

Plenty of time left in the season, lol.

He has wasted more than half the season because of his playcalling and offensive philosophy. The line doesn't run block well, but gives the quaterback good pass protection. The Titans should be a passing team that throws it all over the field to set up the run. Instead, Fisher stubbornly insists on giving Johnson a bunch of carries that lead to a pile of 3rd an long and 3 and out situations. Johnson breaks one run every game; which gives him good stats, but 75% of his runs are for 3 yards or less. Vince Young has had a terrific season. Better than 3/1 touchdown to interception ratio, completed 60% of his passes, and the 5th best passer rating in the entire NFL...all without having the benefit of a great receiving corps. Fisher basically threw away the season last year too, by waiting to play Vince Young until the team was 0-6...and he wouldn't have even played him then if Bud Adams didn't make him.

The defense completely sucks and can't stop anyone; and Fisher stubbornly props up the running game when the offense obviously works better when his quarterback is throwing the ball. Time for Fisher to go bye bye.

Nice to know that more than one person in this world also sees the truth on this issue.
iI is time now to cut the cord with both Vince Young and Jeff Fisher. I support his decision to bench VY because he has never seem to learn to play the Quarterback position while at Tennessee or be mature enough to take the booing. I think it is time to change the coach simply because he has been their too long and a new approach is needed.

Rusty Smith got zero snaps in practice before making his NFL rookie debut on Sunday.

It's obvious by your post that you didn't attend the 2007 NOLA Bowl. Only an uninformed Memphis fan or former baseball player would be so ignorant of facts that he would make fun of Rusty Smith. As a sophomore, Smith singlehandedly torched the secondary of Tommy West and Rick Kravitz.

Schnellenberger says Smith is the finest QB he's ever coached. That list includes Namath, Kelly, and Kosar.

Yeah I agree with some of you. VY is a cancer. Either he is playing like crap or he is injured. He is mentally weak and cant take any criticism. Fisher is the longest tenured coach currently and Titans still havent won a Superbowl. If you are a good coach and have this length of time to build a team you would be wearing rings by now. I love my Titans. I was a Houston Oiler fan as long as I can remember. I would be ok with a fresh start without both VY and Fisher.

RE: HOW BOUT THOSE TITANS!!!!
i hope that was sarcasm mr TG4 because you just said that because a qb torched a memphis defense in college that means hes going to be a great pro. That means that the list of potential great nfl qbs all play in CUSA!! Because last i checked that great memphis defense has been torched by plenty of awful qbs. what team does darrell hackney play for? what about matt grothe?

and if he got zero snaps maybe thats because hes not very good. so before you start throwing out stupid insinuations maybe you should take a step back and think. and just because im a former baseball player means nothing to this thread you just for some reason felt like being a prick and bringing that up for some dumb azz reason.

RE: HOW BOUT THOSE TITANS!!!!
I can't stand the Titans, but Fisher is a good coach. One of the commentators on Cowherd mentioned a lot of the craziness that infects Bud Adams, including bitterness over having to leave Houston for Tennessee, and his version of "revenge" being taking Texas's beloved Vince Young and wanting to use him (i.e. Texas's own) to get back at Houston. I wouldn't be surprised if it was true or false. Hilarious either way, after what has occurred in Minnesota, for this to go on.

For Titans haters, hope that they get rid of Fisher, or keep needling and irritating him that his brain explodes. He may be the only redeeming aspect of that franchise left... If he were fired, he'd get a job in half a second from any discerning owner or sports network.

Educate me, when you are going into a game with Rusty as the #2 qb, why don't you get him a few snaps the week prior to the game? Seems that you might want to knock the rust off a little, just in case.

If Fisher gets fired he will be unemployed for about 30 seconds. VY is not Vick.

RE: HOW BOUT THOSE TITANS!!!!
Young has always been a winner and has improved 1,000% in the last couple of years. He had his problems but he has matured, and by all accounts, took his demotion very well and worked hard. The results are there for anyone to see. He has had a great season; which would be even better IF he had better wide receivers and if they could hold onto easy balls. Fisher is well respected and usually does a good job with what he has; but he has won only 2 playoff games in the last 11 years; including a first round loss in 2008; when they had a record of 13-3. Fisher has also been very dumb when it comes to how he is using Chris Johnson. Johnson isn't a big guy, and Fisher has been using him in meaningless situations at the end of ballgames; which at worst is going to get him hurt, and at best is going to get him worn down. Johnson has in the Raider game with a 38-13 lead and 6 minutes left. He was in the Jacksonville game up 23-3 with 6 minutes left AND a 4th and 5 with less than 2 minutes left.

I've always supported Fisher; but his time is up in Tennessee.

yes.....VY is crying on the sideline. Obviously this pillar of excellence is the answer for the Titans woes.

I don't think he's a cancer anymore, but he's still psychologically weak, if the reports of his behavior from the past game are true. There are disputes about the motive behind the jersey throwing, but I would be critical of the throwing of the pads, the leaving the field prematurely, the leaving from the locker room, the report of yelling at the coach. None of those show maturity or psychological strength in the face of adversity.

And adversity is inevitable. There has to be confidence in players, particularly leaders, that they will respond with some level of composure and/or appropriate strategic outbursts (usually behind closed doors).

Well I went to the Titans game on Sunday and whatever the question that Vince Young is the answer to must be a bad one. If he was a leader in college, he sure isn't one now. Good riddance as far as I can tell.

The Young, Fisher, Adams drama has made very easy the jobs of Nashville sports talk show hosts and it has dominated coverage. For example, Vandy's win over UNC only received about five minutes of air time yesterday on 104.5 fm.

I'll take Vince Young and his lack of maturity all day every day over Jeff Fisher. If it comes down to one of those two leaving, please God let it be Jeff Fisher and his coordinators. 1 superbowl appearance in 17 years, no wins. No playoff wins in 7 years. Career losing record in playoffs. Hovering just above .500 in career wins. The definition of mediocrity. Let's not forget that Fisher and Heimerdinger are possibly the only 2 human beings on earth that can make an offense that consists of Vince Young, Chris Johnson, Kenny Britt (before he got injured), and now Randy Moss, one of the most boring and ineffective in the league.
