Only acceptable in Rio?? Where do you live that you believe that. Google.. College Kids Spring Break or New Orleans Mardi Gras. You don't have to be gay to be offensive.

A) Spring Break is normally done at bars like Club La Vila in PC and the beach, but you get indecent, they PCB police will take your ass to jail. Period.

B) There is nothing offensive about a Christmas parade, and to compare children, marching bands, and a fatass guy in a red suit to hedonists walking down in assless chaps is beyond asinine.

...and the point I made a while back is, "go ahead gay people. Show the rest of America that this is how you are. Good luck getting the majority to side with you." Why would they? It reinforces every damn negative stereotype the people have about'em.

Rebel.. again.. do a google search.. there are things going on there that would offend anyone at a spring break party and they are not broken up.

And I agree completely, it's offensive. That's not a point I'm going to argue against. But I'd never judge all college kids by what you see in those spring break videos, or what I've seen straight people do at the South Side parade for St. Patrick's day. The things I've seen at that parade made me want to throw up. Just like I'm not going to go around assuming all gays are like those w/o any clothes on at the parade.

....and I'm telling you, you do something obscene at a Spring Break event, they take you to jail. Just trust me on that one, it comes from personal experience. As for the Gay Pride events? You have city leaders serving as f'n Grand Marshal's.

You're wrong. Maybe where you went you got put in jail. The idea that things worse than this aren't happening at Spring break or Mardi Gras is just laughable though.

They may not be kicking in my front door in order to do their faggy things in front of me, but with that said, I can't control what my kid does every minute of the day and I don't want him exposed to that **** when I'm not around to protect him.

I just don't like parades in general, but luckily I was born with the ability to turn my head so I don't have to watch. They aren't hurting me in any way.. what do I care what they do? It's not like the parade is bursting out without warning, you know when it is.

Plan accordingly, just as I do for the marathon that goes past my house. I have no interest in watching, or god forbid trying to run in a marathon, but it doesn't bother me. What they do has no effect on my life, why would I ever care? I know when the parade is, so I avoid that area of town for the day, it's not hard. Just like I avoid the downtown area during St. Patrick's day or during the Christmas parade. People want to celebrate those days, so be it, doesn't bother me, no one is forcing me to go.

I think we all can agree that this stuff does nothing to further acceptance of the gay lifestyle in America and is actually detrimental. I honestly think most of it is funny as hell and understand that these those that parade around in assless chaps represent the fringe of the gay population. Ummm..calling them assless chaps might be redundant.
