Hey, quick question
If the DNC is so inclusive, such a big tent, and really (whaa whaa whaa) care about people, um, why the need for the Congressional Black Caucus? Why the need for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus? Why the need for all of these separate entities in any walk of life?
Doesn't sound too inclusive to me. Sounds sectarian. If the Dems were so inclusive, there would be no need for separate caucuses.

Why does the Republican party NOT have them? Let me try to answer this question: BECAUSE THER ARE FEW IN OTHER RACIAL GROUPS IN THE REPUBLICAN PARTY OTHER THAN WHITE GUYS.

...but when they are, they are welcomed with open arms. They don't have to join a special group to be heard. J.C. Watts was very well-respected. They're coming, Robert. The days of the Dems brainwashing the black population are soon coming to an end. It's not the Republicans' fault that blacks don't side with them. That's their fault. Republicans espouse beliefs based on personal responsibility and fiscal conservatism, well, they used to. It's kinda hard to compete with the Dems who tell them all of their problems are because of some evil white man and gives them entitlements out the ass.

Speaking for myself, when I see someone, I don't automatically categorize them as being part of the polka dot, purple, or whatever caucus. I see them as people, citizens.
Democrats use these categories to divide and pit people against each other. Black versus pink, etc.
I choose not to be identified solely by the amount of melanin I have in my skin. Too many people on the other side of the aisle are not mature enough to behave in the same fashion.

Black republicans get a lot of **** from inside the race. A lot of that happened when your bigots like Falwell and Thurmond switched over. That gave the republican party this bad stigma. I know Byrd stayed, but he was considered more of a random crazy than anything. Republicans also have a habit of sticking to speaking areas like Topeka and Omaha and they never step into Harlem or Bed Stuy to say anything or even look like they care. So even conservative blacks are in the democratic party and will not leave and probably would go independent if they did.
Just look at the RNC and tell me what you see. Not a very inclusive looking crowd, which is not to say that they aren't very inclusive. In fact I probably have a lot in common with them, but we'll never know that will we.

I don't think they will need those subgroups but they will need a lot more than this to bring big numbers into the party.

Do all black people live in the ghettos or in Harlem? No. I don't buy this, "they don't come into the inner-city. Sorry to say, the people there are already lost. I'm not concerned with the inner-city. They'll destroy it with their votes just as they did Detroit. The voters of Detroit voted themselves into destitution. It's not the job of the conservatives to change the thinking of the people in the inner-city. It's up to them to wise the fvck up.

It's hard to form a caucus with 3 people.

RE: Hey, quick question
By Reb's definition of socialisim what makes us different than the other industrialized countries that do offer universal health care? So Europe and Canada are socialist havens. OK cross them off the list. I guess that darn standard of living they enjoy we can never attain as a country. Do you have a model country Reb?: or do you just want to stick with an RNC talking point that makes zero sense. Social Security, Medicare, damn those things poll bad. I can see Americans rejecting those ideas right and left.

My definition? No. The dictionary's definition. ..and our standard of living is one of the highest on Earth. Get out of the damn country for once.

Robbie, how about we start a Euro-American caucus? When minorities want to hang with people just like them people like you say it's OK. But if whites want to do it you'd call it racist.

It's just that attitude that only attracts about 10 minorities a year to the party. Those people are workers and Americans just like you and me. Also, not all of Harlem or the inner-city are ghettos and only a small amount of it is. By that reasoning, you can see why the GOP may not be seen as a good place for black people because it isn't beneficial for them to show interest in those who don't live in rural or suburban America.

So, essentially, their votes have to be bought, by monetary means, entitlements, etc.
In that case, you're right. They'll never get many. Conservatism isn't about what politicians can give you, but what they can do to limit government intrusion.

I never said that they had to be bought. But at least spoken to and not viewed as a lost cause before you step into the city. But the ambivalence keeps people away.

If you're doing well already, it makes sense to not want any government intrusion. If you run a business, you probably want less regulation. But if you're poor, sick, disabled, etc. (or have friends or relatives that are) it makes sense that you'd want more government "intrusion" in the form of social services or some way to keep from ending up living on the street. I think Republicans come across to them, rightly or not, as people who don't want to help the less well off, because in so doing, they allow certain people to take advantage of the system.

Well, the they just come off as brain-dead f'n morons, don't they? Study after study after study shows that the most compassionate and charitable people in this country are conservatives.
...and NIU007? Being charitable with other peoples' money through forced taxation isn't charity. Especially since Democrat after Democrat after Democrat has been shown to do whatever it takes to avoid paying taxes at all cost.
