Another anti-gay politician is busted - DUI after leaving a gay bar with a male companion.

Big deal if he went to a gay bar. DUI in a State Vehicle is the issue.

I agree that your average Joe going to a gay bar is no big deal but doing it in a state vehicle is a problem however, when he is a hypocrite and his "job" affects in the gay community because he has to hold up appearances in order to be in the Republican party, it is a big deal.

Your silence on Pelosi's 100K bar tab speaks volumes. She speaks about fiscal responsibility, but runs up a bar tab that would make Ted Kennedy blush, and you said nothing.

Partisan much?

I believe I was chastized here earlier for asserting that the anti-gay people frequently turn out closet self-loathing gays.

This does not boad well for many of the values voters here being able to successfully reproduce. WOOHOO!

I am sorry but what the hell does this have to do with the topic or my reesponse? Oh, I know, you agree with my position but have to hold up appearances on the board in front of your radical rightwing buddies on this board(much like this politician was doing in his career).

Btw, if I am not mistaken, "W" also talked about fiscal responsibility and he bankrupted one company and nearly another. I don't ever remember you questioning his fiscal responsibility.

This dude's career is over. He's a Republican. Will Pelosi's? Yet you never said anything about her making your faux concern disingenuous, to say the least.

As for Bush, you must selectively read posts if you think I never questioned his fiscal policy.

My local newspaper carried this story but didn't mention the gay angle at all.

A newspaper simply reported a story without fishing for controversy? That has to be a first. 04-jawdrop

don't ask, don't tell?

Question about a "state" vehicle.

If you are given a "company car"... and on your way home decide to get a drink, is that really an issue? I mean from a political standpoint, sure... but from a practical one??

The "gay bar" issue and "unidentified male companion" are a bit of a red-herring for me. My experience is that just about every bar in certain parts of many towns are "gay bars"... and the "unidentified companion" could be his son, brother, father, co-worker, press secretary, guy in his rotisseree league or someone who was trying to open his eyes to the gay community and asked him to visit. In his state of discomfort over the issue, he drank too much.

I'm not suggesting this is what happened... I have no idea. He could be a closet gay who got nabbed... but what I postulated also isn't out of the question.... It's just not nearly as good of a story. in a week, we'll know the story and it will probably turn out to be something much less salacious...

meanwhile, SERIOUS issues are being swept under the rug.
