RE: Butler Game
90% chance of t-storms, but I'll be there!
No doubt we're moving in the right direction when we can look forward to the league leader and anticipate a good, close game!!
Hope we can keep this one close, then take care of Morehead and Valpo!

RE: Butler Game
I am very hopeful about this one (as you can see from my prediction). I would love to see us get that first conference win this week.

RE: Butler Game
Butler beat the Camels 56-7 last season and they're undefeated this season thus far playing some close games in the PFL. I suppose with the hope of iot being closer, how close do you really think it'll be?

RE: Butler Game
Butler beat the Camels 56-7 last year and this year they're undefeated though playing some very close games with some PFL opponents thus far. I suppose the question is in hopes of a close game, just how close would you say it'll be. Not want to be but really? I'm saying 35-14, possibly 35-21 or 42-21. Still that's progress.

RE: Butler Game
All I know is Butler is undefeated irregardless of who they played and as to their strength of schedule, I mean CU hasn't exactly played a difficult schedule. I think it'll be in the neighborhood of 38-14, maybe 35-21; somewhere in that range. The best real shot the Camels have at actually winning another football game is at Valpo the next to last game.Improvement? It's kind of hard not to improve from last year even if CU does finish 1-10 again.

I'll take my 8 hour trip again, rain or not! I do believe Campbell will be competitive, since the rain should slow down a pass happy team somewhat.....

RE: Butler Game
We have got to get some pressure on the QB. We just sat back and let Dayton's quarterback pick us apart. We need to send everything including the kitchen sink at the Butler QB. If he completes a pass make him pay. He may beat us but I would make sure he knew he had played and needed some ice packs for his ailments on the trip home.

I agree. Getting to the quarterback is huge and it is not something we have done well this season. We need to pressure Huck. He is statistically the best passing quarterback we have faced this season. If we don't get pressure it could be a long afternoon.

RE: Butler Game
Another loss but we are getting closer. We fell behind early but never really gave up and had a very long shot to at least tie the game in the last three minutes. Much improvement, hopefully the team can build on it and get a win one of these weeks.

RE: Butler Game
Now that they know they can play with these teams they've got to learn how to WIN. Dr Lou described it very well last Thursday night at halftime.

RE: Butler Game
I think the players really are improving and we are getting closer to a win.
If the coaches and play calling had improved the same we already would have that PFL win.
Several bad calls today:
End of first half. Should have gone on 4th and 1 - got the first and had several shots at end zone. Maybe score 7 rather than 3. We had all the momentum and were pushing Butler down the field.
Coin Toss - We should defer at home especially today. Get the ball at first of second half - We got the ball and they chose the end of the field which put us into the wind in first quarter. Our punter could not kick it 20 yards in the wind and we played the whole first quarter at the wrong end of the field (result - trail 20-0)
From that point we outplayed Butler.
With 5 minutes left - should have gone on 4th down rather than punt. When Steele punted he basically quit on the game. There was not time for two more possessions. Better change of picking up 4th down than onside kick.
After the game we hear the same old thing - we grew up some today and we are getting better. The team is getting better but the play calling and decision making by the coaching staff is not.
I see the coach finally decided to play Carl Smith most of the game in the backfield. I don't know what came over the staff today. Maybe they have seen a vision or something.
Hoping for a win next week.

RE: Butler Game
That's what I'm talking about coaching to win. I think our guys and we now know they can play with these teams. Its time to quit the conservative play calling to keep it close and go for the win. I believe our guys are good enough to win. The young team connotations and growing has got to cease and the coachinng staff needs to handle these reigns like they have s thouroughbred in their hands. They might surprise you and get wins over Morehead State and Valpo.

You know I don't personally know him but I've always thought he was the most impressive player on the team playing his position.

RE: Butler Game
Great job kicking the filed goals on Saturday. Much better than the Butler kicker.
Only thing is that 7 sounds so much better than 3.
