However... Doesn't it appear that this dude is just freaking nuts??

He ATE his child's eyes, and then hacked at his own legs. The victim will have to live for the rest of his life disfigured... and killing his dad, though clearly a psycho, doesn't change that, nor does it bring any closure... unless perhaps the child were victimized his whole life... in which case Im fine with frying him...

This is one where I'd favor permanent incarceration in a psych ward... if he ever gets "well", SOME way of paying restitution... AT LEAST pay his child's medical premiums forever. He has a duty as a father, as well as a criminal.

That, or just give him a sharper axe...

Yes. The guy is nuts. But he's a danger to himself, and anyone around him...

I don't favor the death penalty myself. Not in it's current form. It's cost more to put a man to death, than it does to incarcerate him for the rest of his life, due to the way in which our courts work today...

However, if he's a danger to himself, and everyone around him, then removing that part of his brain which controls voluntary movement, thinking, and feeling will render him incapable of such activities forever. That is the ultimate goal, isn't it?
