Limbaugh has refused to back down. Speaking Saturday to a conservative convention in Washington, he said: "What is so strange about being honest and saying, 'I want Barack Obama to fail if his mission is to restructure and reform this country so that capitalism and individual liberty are not its foundation?' Why would I want that to succeed?"

The words made some Republicans besides Steele flinch. Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia, the No. 2 Republican leader in the House, on Sunday seemed eager to change the subject. "Nobody — no Republican, no Democrat — wants this president to fail, nor do they want this country to fail or the economy to fail," he said on ABC television's "This Week."

Cantor should visit the Spin Room.

On Sunday, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said: "It's our desire that the Republicans would work with us and try to be constructive, rather than adopt the philosophy of somebody like Rush Limbaugh, who is praying for failure."

Great tack by Rahm. Paint R's as obstructionists who are hell bent on Obama failing. Putting the spotlight on Rush puts him and Republican's in the crosshairs. The infighting amongst the GOP is good drama.


Limbaugh on Steele:

"Why are you running the Republican Party?" Limbaugh asked on his radio show. "Why do you claim you lead the Republican Party when you seem obsessed with seeing to it that President Obama succeeds? ... I would be embarrassed to say that I'm in charge of the Republican Party in the sad-sack state that it's in. If I were chairman of the Republican Party, given the state that it's in, I would quit."

Steele's response:

"To the extent that my remarks helped the Democrats in Washington to take the focus, even for one minute, off of their irresponsible expansion of government, I truly apologize," Steele said late Monday.

Trust me Mach, they ALL wanted him to fail. They may say one thing in their trying to make themselves seem sensible, however, I have about 8 years of observation to completely contradict that very point.

Bush had a 91% approval rating. Obama could righten the ship. Get us back on track and he wouldn't appoach that number because 25% of this country can't stomach a successful Democratic leader. They put the country through hell because of a bj. I hope some of this sinks in.............. His policies could be successful and you'll still resent him. Hang upside down crosses next to his name. He will not right the ship.
His policies will not be successful.
He will make things worse, not better.

Our best chance of success lies in the ability of the American people to succeed despite their government. When Richard Nixon gave us the 55-mph speed limit, we learned how to use CB radios. That's the biggest cause for optimism that I can find.

Make every Republican politician choose a side. Rush or the RNC. You can't get elected with.... (well there are still some places you can get elected) ...... it will be VERY HARD to get elected siding up next to Rush. I love it. The more media spotlight on oxycotin the better.
