They built them with FEDERAL MONEY. Back in Eisenhower's days. Look it up.

That is the biggest load of crap I've heard in a long time.

Monopolies are illegal per the Sherman Antitrust Act. Show me a privately-owned monopoly.

Re-read the act.

Quote:Every person who shall monopolize, or attempt to monopolize, or combine or conspire with any other person or persons, to monopolize any part of the trade or commerce among the several States, or with foreign nations, shall be deemed guilty of a felony, and, on conviction thereof, shall be punished by fine not exceeding $100,000,000 if a corporation, or, if any other person, $1,000,000, or by imprisonment not exceeding 10 years, or by both said punishments, in the discretion of the court.

Microsoft has been found guilty of multiple violations in court.

Which court? Which ruling? You're the one making the allegations, so I would assume you have these on hand?

Interstates are owned and maintained by the states. However, they usually also receive federal funding to help with the cost. That might be the confusion.

The space program alone has come up with some of the greatest technological advances of the 20th century.

I said name something that the government does well?...NASA is NOT a shining example of success by any stretch of the imagination...Other than the initial space race(which used the talents of those trained in the free market)...They have had as many disasters as successes.

They do a great job and it's easier to control corporate America, as a citizen, than the government.

This is the argument that statists and expecially socialists cant stand....Citizens control the free market by "stopping doing business with those that we dislike for ANY reason"...Citizens have NO control over the government...You CANT stop doing business with them unless you wish to have someone with a gun come and visit you.

Or voting. You forget that one.

Voting has no bearing on your ability interact with the government...As long as it exists..It has the force...You are its slave.

Having a monopoly is NOT illegal. It is only illegal if you use your monopolization to your advantage to keep competetors out of the market.

The load of crap is "Monopolies can NOT exist in a totally free market economy". Obviously they can, and so we have the Sherman Antitrust Act.

Sherman is a totally irrevelant piece of legislation dreamed up by statists...NO monopolies can exist in a totally free market...Please prove me wrong.

Free market and government sanction? In a purely free market, there is no government sanction.

You really should do some research into the products that have come out of the space program.

Question isn't that hard, really. You said they've been found guilty. Name the court and name the case.
