I understand why Pujols is upset, but I also understand La Russa's thinking on this one.

It wasn't going to go extras if Pujols PH for Rowand. He either would've made the final out or the NL would've won on a basehit. Lee was at 2nd, so he would've scored on a single. It was just stupid managing by a stupid manager.

It shouldn't have even come down to Rowand. Derrek Lee obviously went around on a swing for Strike 3 that the first base umpire didn't call.

He could have walked. The previous 2 guys did.
