RE: Chris Benoit
Christopher Michael Benoit was a Canadian professional wrestler who, in 2007 received extensive media coverage as a result of being the perpetrator of a double-murder suicide in which he killed his wife and child, then himself, over the span of a weekend. In professional wrestling, he is most remembered for his work in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

I will never forget the night that Owen Hart was tragically killed in an accident while performing a special ring entry in Kansas City...What stayed with me even more than Mr. Hart's shocking and tragic death at ringside, was that Vince McMahon continued the event...I'm sorry, there's no way I could have allowed the show to go on after that, the fans would have been more than welcome to a refund or a free pass with the stub to the next WWF/WWE event held there in the future...To me, that WAS cold on his part...That was the beginning of my gradual withdrawal from World Wrestling Entertainment...I'm still at a loss for words about the Benoit Family Tragedy to this day.
