We just hired Steve Alford from Iowa for a near $ 1 mill. a year contract. Only Memphis and Creighton pay more for their coaches out of ALL nonBCS basketball programs and has instantly made an impact on recruiting the type of players to take us to the next level. Recruits our last coach could only dream of landing.



Isn't that the same thing Lo-Blow fans were saying when your hired Little Frannie Chinchilla?? He was recruiting all those studs and would have the Lo-Blows deep into the NCAA Tourney in no short time. Litte Frannie really did wonders for the Lo-Blow program!! LOL!!!!!

Nope. They've never won 2 games in one tournament. The Lobos "golden years" were the '90's, where they made the tournament 7 times from 1991-1999. They only won 4 games in those 7 years. They underachieved as well, as they only won 2 games total over three seasons where they had a 3, 4, & 5 seed respectively.

And now they're overpaying for a coach who's prestigious resume' includes an NCAA first round loss to 14 seeded Northwestern St. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

Dave Bliss was never able to get over the hump with decent talent. Fan preasure for not producing in the NCAA's resulted in him taking the Baylor job no less.

From there it was a downward spiral for Bliss.

Actually, dominating is what TCU is doing to the MWAC. They took a mediocre record team from CUSA over there and ran through it like a hot knife through butter. They're still dominating the MWAC in fact.
