RE: UPDATE: Red Riot website
I enjoyed looking through the Red Riot site this morning. What a great way to get info out to the students and fans of NIU! Having some Web experience myself through a Masters degree and being hired to create and maintain some sites, one of the hardest things is getting people to 'use' the sites. Promoting and educating people about the site is something that you just have to keep shoving at them until using it becomes a habit of theirs.
The other issue with things like this is keeping it going when originators leave, or in this case graduate. Keep a lot of guys involved and keep passing the skills and excitement down.
Building school spirit and student sections is a challenge, not for the meek and mild........
Once students realize they can have fun going to games and cheering and maybe being a factor in the outcome of games, then they look forward to it and it builds. Getting them to realize it and do it is the challenge!
Keep up the efforts. There are probably more people that appreciate it than you know.

Thanks for your comments Mr. Storm. I'm glad you liked the website i produced. I agree, that maintaining a website is a challenge. It takes a good amount of time when you have to update it constantly, but it is already doing wonders in getting more people involved. In the last three weeks i've had about 4 individuals email us saying they would like to take a more active role in promoting the Red Riot.
