EEK! Still top of the 1st, Richmond leads 4-0. Brian Bach is not having a good outing on the mound.
Richmond just hit their 15th (!) double of the regionals.

We're not having any luck either. It's hard to win two back-to-back against a team that has beaten you already the day before....
Go Heels! Go Wake!

Hopefully both the Deacs & the Heels will be able to pull themselves out these messes.
If the praying icon was still around, I'd be using it.
Of course if Wake keeps shooting itself in the foot with errors, we're dead meat.

Wake is coming back, only down 6-4 now.
I wish I could say that same for the Heels, but we just allowed another homer -- we're down 3-1 now.

Richmond gets a solo HR to go up 7-4. I don't have a good feeling about this...

Going into the bottom of the eighth...Wake has to get some offense going. Batters #8 & 9 to start things off.
Thanks for the support, JD. It will hurt if for the 2nd year in a row Wake gets all the way to the late Sunday game and comes up short again...

Scioletti gets a 2 out single, bringing Ruziecki to the plate as potential tying run. Ruziecki hit game winner earlier today...
*crosses fingers for another base hit*

But no, a strikeout and Wake's season ends...
What a run it was, and we got to host a sub-regional.
We're proud of you, Diamond Deacs!

I am so pissed right now I probably shouldn't be typing anything.
For the last 4 innings of that game our hitters would put the bat on their shoulders until they had 2 strikes and then they would have to take defensive chickensh*t swings.
Our strategy appeared to be to work their pitchers deep....deep into 0-2 and 1-2 counts everytime.
