First of all, if you believe ANYONE who says they never "knowingly" took steroids and believe them, you're so naive it's not even funny. That has to be one of the lamest excuses I've ever heard, and unfortunately more and more athletes who get busted are using it.

But that's neither here nor there. Bonds did admit to taking steroids. Remember the cream and the clear?

ROFLMAO...until you can prove that he bet on the Reds to lose, you can't make such a ridiculous comment. As long as he didn't, I really couldn't care less if he bet on baseball. Butchering the sanctity of the game? Please!

i'm not saying i believe that. who would? i'm saying that you need a lot more evidence than that to knock a guy out of the running for the HOF.

yes i remember the clear and cream. i believe bonds admitted that he did take a clear and cream substance. what does that prove? are you telling me you don't know any middle aged people who use substances like that? sure, in people's court bonds would lose, but this is america, and i need more proof than that before i do anything drastic.

Okay, that's fair. For the record, I also think Bonds should be in the Hall of Fame. I was really just playing devil's advocate.

I guess I just don't see why it's such a big deal. I mean, yeah, if he were betting on his team to lose, that's a huge problem and he shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame. But if he's betting on his team to win, what's all the outrage about?

well, i guess i just kind of had this idea that there's always been an unwritten rule against gambling on the game. that sounds kinda odd, but it's just always seemed like some old rule passed down from baseball generation to baseball generation and so on.

Kinda of like an unwritten rule against using steroids, knowingly or unknowingly! What ever happened to just working out and staying in shape.

yeah, i definitely didn't know about that unwritten rule. i'm talking about a rule over a century old, and you're throwing out ideas on an unwritten rule less than a decade old? i don't think the 2 compare well.

i think what happened, is the money. as the money grew, there became too much at stake to take any chances.

not that it means anything, but i just want to point out that roids weren't illegal in baseball until about 2003.
