Quote:Motown Bronco:

There are things the ACLU does that I do not agree with. Overall, though, I'm pretty happy with their defense of the constitution. Thus, I continue to carry their card.

Sure, I support responsible gun ownership, even though less than 2% of the guns in this country are used to defend a home (really, that means you'll have to wear it into the locker room at the gym, carry it to the shower, take it on airplanes. . .don't you get tired of toting that thing around, Jesse James?). Many more are used to accidentally shoot somebody who you know. Ooops! Sorry Grandma!

Hunting is okay too. I like venison.

I like earning money and keeping it all. Let's get corporate America and the military-industrial comlex off our teat and we'll all be happier. Maybe real world wages would go UP again.

I love the idea of no affirmative action but I think history has been pretty clear about which side the good ole boy network sides with. . .thus I support hiring capable candidates of all skin hues, nationalities, etc.

Thanks. I was only curious about your points of view, and you answered in kind. And yes, upon further review, my post was a little long-winded (and I was bored and wanted to mix it up a little bit in here, got carried away, etc.).

Quote:Blah blah I'm tired of answering your questions. Now you answer mine.

Sure. I'd like to discuss liberty a bit further, and I'm looking forward to your questions.

Quote:Have you ever stuck a ***** in your ****** just for kicks?

Uh, Nope. Have no desire. But if this is what floats someone else's boat, more power to him. Maybe your next question is relevant. Let's see...

Quote:Do you often dress in women's underwear?

Nah. Not even on Halloween. Next.

Quote:When masturbating, do you use hand lotion or petroleum jelly?

Take a guess. You win a prize if you're right.

OK. So I guess we're not going to chat about civil liberties after all.

Quote:Yup, that's right. It IS none of my business! Do you see the analogy or shall I spell it out for you?

Hmmm... You're going to have to spell it out for me, joe, because I don't see your analogy here. You see, the topic of this forum is "The Spin Room", ergo, inquiries related to politics, government, and current events are expected in here. Unless I missed something, I wasn't aware this became the "Sexual Orientation and Fetishes" message board. But your questions were entertaining though.

Hey, Stupido, speaking of contradictions. . .

You apparently want to invade France next? And you think communists and dictators suck? Or just communist dictators? Free market dictators are okay in your world?

Pass some of that my way, will ya? It's puff, puff PASS. Keep it in rotation. :chair:
Where in the world did you get all this? Do you just pull random ideas about my opinions out of your ****** or something? Where did I ever say I supported dictators of any kind? Where did I ever say I supported or believed in communism? Where are my so-called contradictions? Once again, a liberal proclaiming something without any supportive evidence. Looks like you're the one who needs to put the pipe down.

Oh, eariler you said...

Quote:Both have their weaknesses, but basically, if you support laws then you are not a libertarian.

This is incorrect. Libertarians (both 'big L' and 'little l') certainly support laws. Libertarians believe that individuals should have full liberty to do as they please as long as you are not enacting force or fraud on someone else. Hence, you cannot deceive, steal, kill (unless self-defense), kidnap, rape, vandalize, etc. Obviously you are then adversely intruding on others' liberty if you do this stuff. Libertarians fully recognize the need for police officers and courts of law.

The Republicans suck so bad that the economy, AFTER the worst disaster on this soil, and corporate scandal, that HAPPENED under Clinton, is booming.

Truthfully? We'd be ****ED if we had a President that raised our taxes when he was elected.

Our economy is booming and it's NOT advantageous to the Democrats. Clinton enjoyed a good economy for one reason.........the I.T. boom which people like me helped to produce.

Want proof? Anyone on the internet before Clinton?

"Remember, the true enemy is in PARIS!
The enemy also lives amongst us. They are the perfidious liberals of America.
Communism, socialism, and dictators suck."

Your sig line says something about first Iraq, then Chirac (a conservative in France, by the way). I'm assuming that meant you advocate bombing France. Forgive me. I can see now that I'm just high.

So you obviously don't think communism or socialism is a good idea. You also have your differences with despots.

Are you following how your sig provides the evidence? Or should I just take you by the hand and write your response for you?

What makes George Bush NOT a dictator?

Sorry, but I didn't say that bit about the Libertarians supporting laws but I do agree with it. The way I understand libertarianism (the non-right wing kind) is the aversion to government of any kind. No time to support this now but you can be sure I will. I'd be interested to hear your views.

BTW, I was a bit too strong with my rebuttal. I just felt like I was being interrogated, as if you'd come up at a party and started asking about my most intimate thoughts and ideologies.

Can't we just have a drink and get to know one another first?

Then I'll tell you all about my festishes. :roflol:

Are you being serious or was this written in jest?

1) He was elected per the governing documents by the electoral college.

2) He is up for re-election next November.

3) He is restricted, per the U.S. Constitution, to two 4 year terms.

4) He doesn't control finances as, per article 1 of the US Constitution, that power is left to Congress.

5) He cannot solely declare war as that right also resides in the hands of Congress.

6) ......and basically, unlike a dictator, he cannot do anything he wants to do.

I know you liberals hate to admit it but if you look at ANYTHING you are bitching about you will see that everything had bi-partisan support.......or it wouldn't have happened. The Democratic presidential candidates today are spewing so many lies that they are becoming believable by their constituency. They are, however, still lies. TSA? Spearheaded by Daschle. Homeland Security? Knee-jerk reaction by both parties. Afghanistan? Both parties. Iraq? Both parties. To be quite frank, if they can manipulate their constituency to forget HOW they voted just to install a "new" history of voting based on lies, then their constituency is either too stupid or too complacent to research their candidates, and by any means, shouldn't even vote.

2) Yeah, get Norton Personal Firewall.

Ok, just a question for the resident liberals on board. Seeing as how I was talking about lying so much that it becomes the truth, or lack thereof, did Bush ever say we would find WMD's in 6 months JBR?

Also, since we haven't found them in 6 months, should we give up? If so, should we also give up on UBL? Saddam Hussein? What IS the statute of limitations on something or someone that is considered a threat to our country?

Quote:1) He was elected per the governing documents by the electoral college.

No, he was installed by the Supreme Court (thanks for the court-packing, Dad!) and his brother in Florida. Yes, there's lots of evidence to prove this. Sure, I'll be glad to post it (again) if you want to see it again.

Quote: 2) He is up for re-election next November.

Sure. We know all about those free elections where less than half the country votes (no point). Is he going to pull a Guliani and argue to stay past his term because America is at war?

Quote: 3) He is restricted, per the U.S. Constitution, to two 4 year terms.

Great. Two terms of a court-appointed coup. Then we get his brother! Another shill sucking the dick of corporate America. What a choice that is!

Quote:4) He doesn't control finances as, per article 1 of the US Constitution, that power is left to Congress.

Luckily, they're knee deep in it too! All George Bush has to do is ask for it and they give it to him. Wow! I am overcome at how efficient and noble our separation of powers are!

Quote:5) He cannot solely declare war as that right also resides in the hands of Congress.

Did he declare war before he invaded? I forget.

Oh, right. That's just a military incursion? Am I using the right doublespeak here?

Quote:6) ......and basically, unlike a dictator, he cannot do anything he wants to do.

Is there anything he wanted to do that he hasn't done, besides disregarding the U.N., turning up his nose at Kyoto, etc.

I'd go ahead and blast the rest of your post, but I think you see my point. You can TELL us he's not a dictator, but his actions certainly speak for themselves!

Wrong, the Supreme Court stated that if they were to recount the votes, they had to recount the entire state. The Gore camp was only recounting the Democratic counties (and you call Republicans low). They decided not to because the outcome would have been the same. Per the Electoral college, GW Bush won Florida's electoral votes, voting him into the White House. There were several private recounts done by agencies of BOTH political persuasions and ALL showed GW Bush the winner. Get over it.

Quote:Sure. We know all about those free elections where less than half the country votes (no point). Is he going to pull a Guliani and argue to stay past his term because America is at war?

It's called the Electoral College and you, as a {cough, cough} professor, should know why we are NOT a true democracy, but a representative Republic. A true Democracy is nothing more than Mob Rule. You want that? Ok, we can start now. More than half the people support the president so we can circumvent the US Constitution, right? Wrong. I would be the FIRST one to try to stop that.

Quote:Great. Two terms of a court-appointed coup. Then we get his brother! Another shill sucking the dick of corporate America. What a choice that is!

Read above. No one was appointed by the Court.

Quote:Luckily, they're knee deep in it too! All George Bush has to do is ask for it and they give it to him. Wow! I am overcome at how efficient and noble our separation of powers are!

Hmm, I always thought liberals were all for big-government and government spending.

Quote:Did he declare war before he invaded? I forget.

Oh, right. That's just a military incursion? Am I using the right doublespeak here?

Was Korea declared(Democrat)? Vietnam(Democrat)? Desert Storm(Republican)? Somalia(Republican)? Bosnia-Herzegovina(Democrat)? Kosovo(Democrat)?

....but you only care about this one. rrrriiiggghhhhttttt.

Quote:Is there anything he wanted to do that he hasn't done, besides disregarding the U.N., turning up his nose at Kyoto, etc.

Why don't you do a little research on the Kyoto Treaty and find out just how FEW countries signed it. It was also detrimental to any country that WASN'T 3rd world. It wasn't to ANY industrial country's advantage. You blame Bush. You might want to find out how old it is and how many other countries refused to sign it. ....but you blame Bush.

Quote:I'd go ahead and blast the rest of your post, but I think you see my point. You can TELL us he's not a dictator, but his actions certainly speak for themselves!

My God you have a lot of free time. I thought you Republicans were all about working 100 hours a week, non stop. . .

Is this your idea of work? :D

Anyway, I'm always happy to clear up any misunderstandings you apparently have about the nature of democracy in our country but I just flat don't have the time today. I WILL be back, though.

I'm sure you already know what I'm going to say, though, right Kev?

You didn't know? I'm a multi-millionaire sitting on board my Searay 680 sitting off the coast of the Virgin Islands with my satellite uplink posting to you. My chefs are cooking up some Snapper that I caught on the back deck sipping on Coronas. All these BOTD's are actually girls on my yacht that I email to different members to post so I don't look biased towards any one member.

By the way, I already know the nature of Democracy in this country. It is you that doesn't understand the nature of our Constitution. BTW, again, I'm a Libertarian.

Well, about to pull up anchor and head to my private, 200 thousand acre island with all the bells and whistles....you know, Helo pad, airstrip, golf course, and marina for my really big boats.
