two of the top 3 pitchers in baseball pitch tonight. Schmidt against the d-rays and prior against the pujols-less cards.

?
let's look at his stats from last year and his stats in his last 8 starts. After that, tell me which pitcher(s) is better.

earlier you said he was one of the top 3 pitchers in baseball. In baseball pedro, randy johnson, mulder, wood, prior are all better than schmidt, schmidt is possibly in the top 10

Prior pitched wonderfully today. (sarcastic)

And Schmidt is not top 3. Prior, Pedro, Schilling at least are better.

when prior has more than one full season in which he pitches well, then we can talk.

Pedro needs to bring his ERA down and decide to pitch some innings.

Compare schmidt and schilling for the last 2 years and this year.

This year Schilling and Schmidt are virtually even, last year Schilling was injured, the year before that, Schilling by a mile. And before that, Schilling by a mile. Not even close.

We all know the story with Pedro.

Are you saying Schmidt is better than Prior?

even? Schmidt's ERA is a half a run better than schilling's.

what is the story with Pedro.

Yes, Schmidt is better than prior. many scouts agree. The d-rays announcers said today that many scouts they talked to, said schmidt is the best pitcher in the NL.

I think Schmidt is the best pitcher in baseball right now. Take out his first two starts, and he's been simply unhittable.

randy johnson has easily been the best pitcher this year. Great ERA, whip, opp. BAA. Hes been terrific. Hes had a perfect game, 1 hitter, and 2 hitter

I still think Schmidt has been a little better. Johnson has been great, though. No doubt about it.

I would argue that Clemens has been a little bit better than Schmidt so far

Clemens
9-0
2.08 ERA
88 K
HR 5
Hits allowed 54
78 IP
Runs allowed (not ER) 18

Schmidt
7-2
2.49 ERA
82 K
HR 6
Hits allowed 49
76 IP
Runs allowed (not ER) 23
